I loved this as a kid. It really wrapped everything up nicely...

Now I know why Hickmans wasn’t called Secret Wars 3 hope you do Secret Wars 2015 someday also can you explain the Doom thing again because I’m still confused by all of it was it the actual doom in the first Secret Wars or no?
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think I should have explained it better in the video. So Doom died before secret wars 1, but he transferred his mind into Norman MacArthur. As MacArthur, he confronted the Beyonder during Secret Wars 2, who didn't recognize Doom, and Reed Richards realized it was because Doom was in a different body. So in order to avoid a time paradox, Beyonder restored Doom’s body, put his mind back in the body, and then sent that restored version of Doom back into the past to participate in Secret Wars 1. When that story ended, that version of Doom was sent back to the future to a point after Secret Wars 2, so from then on Dr. Doom was his old self. I realize it's still confusing so let me know if there's somewhere you're still not following and I'll try to clarify further

@@CaptainAway I guess that did make it easier to understand I just want to clarify the Doom we saw in Secret Wars 1 was the real one and not the Norman MacArthur one correct?
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
@adrianrocha6844 right. The doom we saw in Secret Wars 1 was the real Doom with his body and mind fully restored (except his memory of future events erased). Even Doom didn't realize he was from the future.

@@CaptainAway okay that’s all good with me now I’m no longer confused but how did molecule man get out of that cube because we’ve seen him after this
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
@adrianrocha6844 That is a great question and I don't actually know. If I manage to find out, I'll definitely try to make a video on that at some point

Dr. Doom killing a random person really confuses me. Did I miss something or was Doom just being evil just for the sake of being evil?
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
I explained it later in the video, but it may not have been clear.
@sethmerriman73772 ай бұрын
@@CaptainAway I watched it again and see now. The random person was the Molecule Man. I’ll pay better attention next time.😄
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
No worries! I had a feeling I was going to confuse people on that one. The comic actually revealed right away that it was Molecule Man but I wanted to do a twist in the video.

Marvel can't reprint the complete Evolutionary War because they don't have the rights to reprint Alf Annual #1.
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
Surely, the Alf Annual isn't a necessary component to the tale?
@harrybehemoth27512 ай бұрын
@@CaptainAway As far as story, no, but it is technically part of the crossover. It even has that "Evolutionary War" banner printed at the top of the cover, like all the other annuals.

Is Hickmans 4 then?

I see Hickman's as more like a reboot. It feels to me like it's more referencing Secret Wars than in any way being part of Secret Wars continuity-wise.

I love your channel and reviews but dear lord this storyline was horrible!
@CaptainAway2 ай бұрын
Honestly, I saw a lot of negative reviews for this story over the years, so I was expecting something worse when I finally read it. In the end, I thought it felt like a desperate but not terrible attempt to fill in some long-standing plot holes, but again, maybe that's just because my expectations were set so low in advance.
