Then they should've made it invincible. The Wither has invincibility phases, so we know it can be coded in, they just need to make it permanent for the Warden. But they leave it vulnerable, so they should give it a drop. It doesn't have to be game changing, it could be as simple as a special warden themed helmet, or a new enchanted book that you can't get from a table or any other source. Not a guaranteed drop, but something that gives those looking for the challenge a cool reward for their efforts

"you aren't supposed to kill it" isn't a reason to not give it a unique drop. terraria's dungeon guardian wasn't made to be killed but once people started killing it, the devs added some pet to its loot table. my point is it'd be funny if they gave the warden a unique drop, just a totally useless one, like a warden head or something stupid

I'm sick of comments like, "Mojang said the Warden isn't meant to be killed, so players shouldn't be rewarded for overcoming that challenge!" Dude, developers don't intend for players to do a lot of things, but they still give rewards for it. Developers never intended for players to collect every Korok seed in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but they still gave a reward for that. Developers never intended for players to kill the Dungeon Guardian in Terraria, but they still gave a reward for that. There are tons of other examples as well. A fundamental part of game design is that if the developers place a huge, impossible challenge in the game, players are going to try to complete it. That's why good games take this into account, and give a nod to players that manage to complete them. I'm not saying that the Warden should drop some ultra-powerful weapon, I'm saying that it should drop a music disc, or an armor trim, or a banner pattern, or a Warden head. Things that don't actually affect gameplay, but serve as a trophy of sorts.

To people commenting that the warden isnt meant to be killed, you're right. But as an old Tabletop RPG saying goes; "if you stat it, they will kill it". Given immense practice, preparation and skill, the warden can be killed in fair combat using potions and/or unenchanted golden apples on hard difficulty. For that reason, I believe it should either drop a trophy item when killed under certain "non-cheese" conditions, or have a secret advancement. If mojang wanted something truly unkillable, a mob is not the way to go

I think it's a good thing they just gave it massive health instead of invulnerability. It gives the players that likes fighting have that option open instead of just being forced into the sneaking playstyle like the intent was. They just have to face the consequences of that being futile because another one just spawns soon after and it wasn't worth the effort. You get your intended play style without closing the option for those that want to break it. It's like mining fatigue, sure you can go through the entire monument maze like the intention or you can try breaking a block in the consequence of it taking a friggin long time, they didn't completely remove the ability to mine just made it impossibly difficult.

Well that's nice. We can kill warden like that. And we can trap wither underneath the end portal. But... There should be a method to kill that stupid dragon too. I mean. Its not hard but wastes a lot of time. Well, I have seen plenty of methods. But some cause a lot of destruction. And some are hard to make or I simply don't like it.

So you meant to run away from it like in some horror movies because killing it is pointless, giving you 1 useless block after kill and make a noice, those things will just spawn another one

Everyone keeps saying you're not supposed to kill the Warden, because game design. Ok, and? It's bad design. There's no incentive to keep the Warden alive other than its difficulty. It's stronger than both of the actual bosses, yet it's not treated as one. The Warden's drops are shit. Mojang should either give the player a reason to keep the Warden alive, or at least give a reward for killing it. Doesn't have to be useful, but the Warden dropping its head for example would be a good "trophy reward", much like the Dragon Egg.

@@JohnKimble-bl9wv but it's, again, a natural disaster, supposed to be unkillable and avoided, that's the mentality it was designed around, run over stand your ground, Minecraft just has so many cheese builds and setups that can demolish anything that it's hard to make something like that with no complaints, "why would something you run from, and only run from drop something useful if it will never be seen? " Was the intent behind not giving it a drop
