It's funny that people in the comments seem to have not watched the video considering their comments about Clown being worse than he used to be in terms of his personal skill lol. As you said, Clown has actually been improving his personal pvp skill, especially during late 2023 and 2024 by practicing more with highly ranked tierlist players such as Spawnplayer (former HT1, the top rank in the world) for the SMP kit and FerreMC (who has also held numerous very high ranks in the past, focusing on SMP and UHC which are the most relevant tierlist kits to regular survival servers that don't allow Crystal or Cart PVP) more generally. However, the people he used to fight the most were significantly worse than him because the general level of pvp skill in Minecraft, especially Minecraft KZbinr communities, was far lower than it is today. His improvements have simply not been enough to maintain the skill gap, and that's not surprising considering that mechanically, it is literally impossible to win a 35v2 if you're fighting half decent players because half decent players don't quickdrop and mathematically will overwhelm you through sheer resources (as your armour and potions and food will break/run out before their combined total does). Clown's personal skill and ability has actually improved, especially recently because of his training with highly ranked tierlist players. But everyone else got better as well, and of those who trained harder and became better than or on par with Clown, who are many, a few went on to become major KZbinrs like FlameFrags and Sharpness. But, it is worth saying that Clown, in terms of raw PVP skill, is still one of the best players on Lifesteal and even within the tierlist, is a better performing player than the vast majority of people. Not to mention that SMPs depend on more than just raw PVP skill, they also depend on strategy and awareness of connections between people and knowing when to tell the truth, and how much of it to tell, to advance your goals. And as Clown is focused on SMPs, this makes sense, as he doesn't need to exclusively rely on pvp skill to achieve victory for his aims. That being said, especially in S6, Clown has been demonstrating very openly that he's been getting better (and it's been a rapid improvement: looking at how he fought FlameFrags and how he's been fighting on Lifesteal during S6, compared to when he first fought the Server Assassin several months ago on Friend or Foe, he has very clearly improved significantly). I mean, I did not expect him to do so well against FlameFrags in their 1v1, I'll be honest. It was way closer than I was expecting, and that's not from me overestimating Flame, but from underestimating Clown because I hadn't realised how much he'd been improving.

@@BearyYT there was a video where rekrap2 trapped him using a glitch/exploit whatever you wanna call it, but it basically prevented you from moving or looking anywhere and he did this to everyone in the lifesteal smp, when he got to trapping clownpierce, clown started combat logging over 100ish times in order to stay alive and broke one other rule i think, but if he wouldve died clown would have not lost a heart or mace because rekrap said he would give it back, but he wouldve had his first death on the smp. this later lead to clown losing 5 of his hearts as a punishment but then went on to hunt rekrap alongside wembu.

its not really that he's getting 'worse', there was a time period where he was, but now he's getting pretty good again. The issue isn't that he's bad, its that he's not an untouchable god and he never was. its something i've came to know as "the technoblade effect" someone is popular while having an incredibly high skill gap between them and most other people, but the skill gap cannot be maintained. It happened to technoblade, dream, sharpness and it happens to EVERYONE who gets popular from pvp. Flame and squid are correct, clownpierce is probably better than ever, its just other pvpers who happen to be on his level make him seem worse than he is. I actually have a real world example of this from a few years ago that i'd like to share: In school, i was really good at badminton (pre covid), every gym/P.E class, i'd be able to beat multiple people at once and it made me seem like I was INCREDIBLE. I alos did badminton outside of school; when i went against others on my level or even better, it looked a lot less impressive. my skill didn't change, the circumstances did. And thats essentially what has happened to clownpierce. He isn't worse than he was, he's worse than people think he was. People thought he was the best without question, and now others on his skill level are there, so even if his skill level only INCREASED, people can't just decide he's the best in the world without question anymore. TLDR: ClownPierce simply cannot live up to the expectations that people set for him, its nothing against him, nobody could live up to those expectations, he's human, an immensely skilled human, sure, but a human cannot be the "best" at something forever.

Also another note: PVP is always evolving. One player can't always be the best. It takes time to learn new skills, which is possible but some people have lives and at a point MC PVP isn't their life anymore. At one point Technoblade is known as the best, another point ClownPierce is, now, maybe Flamefrags. I believe Technoblade said this but the best player is probably never gonna be known because they aren't some big KZbinr, just someone playing the game everyday. Plus from some other people, Clown isn't as active anymore, he doesn't play as much as he used to and has a life outside of PVP.

As for when I was young I would shred people because I would spend an unhealthy amount of time to get better, but in reality I wasn’t talented at it. You see this is why technoblade would win because we have seen that techno has adapted to the new pvp tactics (we see this in the dream smp)but we don’t see clown use any new pvp skills besides the ones he uses. So as clown may have been better than him back in his prime days (this is debatable because even before the dream smp and the fall of clown techno was still doing similar if not even better feats than clown)but techno would adapt to new skills quicker than clownpierce.(R.I.P techno)

I love clown, and he was one player out of all lifesteal that could be funny, headstrong and powerful enough to not be overthrown. and he might not be the best player, but he is still holds his place in every fans hearts

It's more the fact his competition is now better, so it makes him look worse. But also the new Lifesteal is a very different kit which is maybe less suited to Clown's abilities

Hes not really getting worse, his gameplay is probably stagnating because he doesnt play as much anymore and he intentionally has to play worse in SMPs for a half-decent story which probably leads to his actual PVP getting worse

From what I heard on test run, and from what I saw from Clownpierce PvPing (especially on DrDonut's channel), Clownpierce is getting better, but it's just that people are getting better faster than him. It's kinda like (I'm gonna pull an example from another game) saying WhiteCat got worse in osu! because he's no longer rank #1. That's not true, it's just that other people improved faster (example: mrekk, the current rank #1 player as of 9/28/2024).

my theory is that, along with everyone getting better(including clown) he just spends time doing stuff outside of training such as spending time with his gf and playing other games outside of mc and (to my knowledge) he stopped training as much prior to (at least flame and mane) a lot of the people who've beaten him did + its never been just his raw pvp that makes he deadly its that, given enough time (when he cares enough) he will learn how to counter your play style and he wont give up on top of the fact that outside of pvp legacy he is really good at escaping (although not perfect) when he believes that he's in an unwinnable situation (see Friend or Foe)

It's totally normal for people who are godlike at a game to fade over time. You get older and your skills simply start to fade. On top of that you have less time to dedicate to grinding or may even simply not want to anymore. All past gods of gaming have fallen and they always will. Also, in regard to the PvP mods, i actually respect players more who don't use them. There's nothing wrong with using them (unless against any rules) but they're undeniably a crutch. These are no reason to trash on a player, imo. Cheating though... We need someone to breakdown why he would do that. I just don't understand... Maybe it's for lore reasons?

i personally have a lot of thoughts on this cuz i love clown: 1. As lifesteal moved on, they made more rules. In Clown's old vids, he specifically says he mains Nethpot, SMP, and other netherite pvp gamemodes. Also, no pearls means he cannot track down ppl far away from him easily. this is seen on friend or foe, where with neth and pearls, he dominates. Also, crystals became banned, which hindered his cpvp, as he hasnt done cpvp in 2-3 years. With netherite banned, he cannot compete with ppl like flame, who i think if we went back 2 years, clown could have still destroyed flame in his 1v1 bcuz of reason 2: 2. Clownpierce's pvp style changed. if we see yellowbed's video on how to pvp like clown, some of the points he touched clown just doesnt do anymore. Yellowbed talkes about clown using netherite and crystals to his advantage, which now isn't possible in lifesteal. In the vid where he obtained 64 god apples, he needs to train with FerreMC bcuz he says himself he lost all his skill. Ferre is good, but his pvp style is way different than what clown is used to. Combining both styles just made clown worse. 3. Clown isnt bad still. When he 1v1ed Sharpness, he beat him in SMP, his main gamemode. When he 1v1ed Squid, they both mained SMP, so it was close. When he 1v1ed flame, flame LITERALLY DIDNT DO ANY NETHERITE GAMEMODES BRU. yea this is it thx no offense this is all my opinion

Gotta give it to Clown. While he might not have as huge a skill gap as he did originally, the fact he can do a lot without HUD information really does put him on quite a high level. It might not be as high now, but he's still good. Others just are reaching that level too.

That was 2 years ago and plus maybe he improved after 2 years ago he probably improved after 2 years but when only squid fought clown pierce clown pierce was not using his shield for some reason making squid have the advantage

Clown has definitely gotten better. It’s just that the 1.9 pvp community and especially the tierlist is growing and your average player is a lot better than 2 years ago. Even someone like me could probably beat him in most gamemodes aside from lifesteal/diamond smp

Clown is getting better, but the bar is getting closer to his skills; he's not a geek who plays Minecraft 24/6. He plays for fun and enjoys life too. He has his set and people is just catching up.
