Sweet video. Love your vlog style with it too. I hate that hissing sound too and ended up getting a mic that I can wear on me and record at -10db so I can give myself some room for correction post-production. Wow you were able to go pretty far!

Thanks Amber!! Yeah it's just something you come to expect with inexpensive microphones. Haven't found a way around that yet..!

Thanks Sam! Always looking for a cheaper solution and sometimes you get what you pay for. But that mic seems like a decent option with a little tweaking.

For sure! Not a bad mic considering the price! Not perfect, but not horrid either

you could glue a hot shoe mount onto the reciever. super glue would work.

Or 3D print a mount.

Ty Sam. Would you have any other recommendations for wireless mic's? I'm on a very tight budget and wouldn't use a headset. TY in advance.

Sam, do you have access to any Shure wireless lavs? The fifine uses a mini xlr connector and I think the Shure wireless systems do too, so I'd be curious if you could get better performance with a better mic on that cheap pack. Also, I'd be curious if you plugged it directly into your zoom h4n and used that as a preamp before you connected it to your DSLR if you'd get better audio, too.

Yeah that's actually a good question. I'd imagine the high and low tones are gonna be very similar but I'd be interested in the noise level

@@samdezao I know with my Canon, the preamps are pretty much useless, but I can boost it and send a hot signal in and get pretty decent audio (with the gain turned down to 1 above nothing).
