Played this game a long time ago. I think was the last mission I completed. Immersive autistic that I am, I took it personally that an ally was taken prisoner, and made it a point to accomplish every objective possible. Even got a medal for it. It’s rather embarrassing to admit.

That's what I thought too, he was shot down by the Japanese in WW2. I don't think he was part of the flying tigers though irl.
