As you watch the video of the Belmont Stakes you can actually see the distance increase between Secretariat and the other horses!!!...INSANE!!!!

That heart was estimated before his actual death, and even so at that estimated weight of 14-16 lbs was huge. But, after the necropsy, a whopping approximate weight of 22 pounds was determined. He was indeed the perfect horse.

Thanks for posting! He's just breathtaking with such a beautiful conformation....as close to perfect as you can get. I had a horse when I was in my 20's that my Dad bought for me. He was a year-old when I got him. He was red like "Secretariat", an American saddlebred gelding. At 17 hands high he was beautiful as well and loved to run and be ridden. He never ran from me when I brought the bridal to the fence!
