@Zach Dolgoff I'm not a Falcons fan either, but that game makes me angry too. The Patriots are proven cheaters, and the fact that they get away with it sets a bad example for those who look up to them, especially kids. Defeating them in the NFL's biggest spotlight would have sent the message that cheaters never prosper in the end. The Falcons had one job, and they blew it spectacularly.

@@hotwax9376 If cheaters never win yet the Patriots continue to prevail, perhaps they aren't cheaters. If Spy Gate and Deflate Gate had occurred on any other team it may be cheating, but this is Belichick and the Patriots, who are known to eek out _every_ inch of advantage they can. Belichick was complaining about the _roof_ being open in the beginning of the last Superbowl they won, worried that it could affect his kicker! These are guys who try _everything_, it makes sense that they might color outside the lines every once in a while. You never know if you're stretching the rules to the breaking point until someone tells you you've broken them, just like you never know if a glass is truly full until some spills over the edge. They've won two more Superbowls since without any cheating accusations, which suggests they're not "cheaters," but a well-coached hard-playing football team.

All Falcons fans had is this one year they should have won but didn't in the most unbelievable way possible. Hey Joe. Long time fan of SB Nation. I have a story you might like? I'll try to keep this short. During Xmas of 2016 my dad learned that he had Cancer, and while we fought hard prior to this he had never been as beat down. And that was tough. I'm the youngest of 4 and my dad was a giant, especially when it comes to sports... or at least MY sports. Like many kids, my dad was my first, and best coach. Decades after this as I grew up I would find such an enormous depth to every lesson he taught me, and long before his mortality ever occurred to me, I had credited to him the learning of the three P's. Poise Prevents Panic. It was the second most import thing he ever taught me. You don't stop playing when all seems lost. Never. But no matter what the outcome, you are a good sport and shake hands. THAT was the MOST important thing. :) Now I am gonna lose you a little. My dad grew up south of Boston, in Plymouth, and our family were dyed in the wool Boston Homers. Red Sox. Celtics. Bruins (my grandma from Quebec loved hockey), and even the Patriots, who in my youth were always just... meh. I mean, my uncle was buried with his red sox hat. But it wasn't roses, because *I* grew up in the 70's and 80's... when being a Red Sox fan meant pain. Lots and lots of pain. A pain handed from father to son for generations... as my grandfather handed it to my dad. Looking back now - it is an alien world. This new world was VERY different since 2001 (with the Celtics as a bright side note). The Boston Sports "era" since 2001 was a strange world to us, but it felt nice... having pushed through so many "close but yankees" years. BUT Here we were now... in 2017... with both our work ethics for not quitting, me with my own kids, and it was a great time to be a fan. But cancer. My brother and sisters had been heroes, but even they did not want to head home and watch the game with him... and one of us NEEDED to... it is a lot of emotion and drama, and leaving it all to my mom was not fair. So it was me, and my brother and sisters were relieved... because victory is never assured, and well, they needed a break. As I said, my dad had been pretty beat down. And then I watched 3 quarters of Atlanta absolutely balling! But for my dad... At 28-3, he was done. Screw the patriots, screw cancer, screw life... this was just another thing happening this year... another loss... nothing going right... And hey... when you are sick - you sometimes have selfish moments, and even with the last 17 years of sports fandom and the success of all of his favorite teams... he was sick of losing. This year... he was sick of it. All. But I didn't let him. Poise, prevents, panic. I reminded him that he was my coach. That he was MY teacher. And he sat back down, and together with my dad I got to watch the greatest comeback in sports history. So, I am really and TRULY sorry. I love Atlanta (the city) and her people. Truly. And you have some of the most passionate sports fans I have ever met. I really do root for y'all every chance I get (and your Atlanta Braves in the 90's were... amazing.) And for the record - when 28-3 comes up around here in New England... it is ALWAYS a lesson. Play 60. Shake hands. It doesn't give your fans a title, but I do truly appreciate the gift of convincing my dad that he was a good dad... by having him not miss one of the greatest games of all time. The "falcons' part never comes up, and I'll never hear a cruel word said about y'all. You made a Fantastic video. Oh, and my dad won... well, for a little while. In Feb of 2019, almost 2 years later the clock ran out. Two amazing and hard years. He fought the whole time, but was lucky enough to have had brief moments of golf in between... and he got 2 more years of 'one last times', and he enjoyed them. And when the L came he was graceful, and poised, and we all agreed that he played a good game. :)
