I had this argument with my sister just the other day. Great Value (Wal Mart) does not own & operate a whole potato chip factory. They contract out to Frito-Lay. For example - after a production run of Lays Sour Cream & Onion potato chips are done, the packing is switched over to Great Value branded bags, and #2 potatoes (because the prettier, fresher #1 potatoes were used earlier by Frito-Lay) are then sliced & dropped into the SAME OIL (only now slightly used) dried on the same line & seasoned in the same hopper - bagged & boxed by THE SAME machines.
@shannonmarie37533 жыл бұрын
When anyone buys Aldi's brands, if there's something they don't like, for any reason, it can be returned; Aldi gives your money back, and gives you a new 2nd package of whatever it was. Also, because they're a European company, their food-production places are under much stricter food guidelines than the U.S. has; as far as what types of chemicals & other non-food products are allowed to be in people'sfood. Most Aldi (and Lidl) grocery products have less calories & more nutrition per serving than comparable food produced/packaged in the U.S.

My husband has worked in private brand grocery development for over 20 years. He says that the private brand/store brand has to be as good if not better than the brand in order to have return business - makes sense. Some times - if not most - the BRANDS are the ones boxing the store brands under different store labels.

The problem I have with ‘non brands’ however is the itchiness. I don’t know what the difference is in the product but my hooha does not like the coating of the non branded products. It is not good to me (ok when it’s not too hot, and once in a while, but cannot use on the regular). Thats a myth actually. I heard something similar a few years ago. But Trader Joes started separately by someone else unrelated, and later was sold to a company that is owned by one of the 2 brothers you mention. Also originally Aldi was created by the father of those 2, then was split and both those companies still own Aldi but in different countries. So neither brother started Aldi or TJs, and Trader Joes is currently owned and run by the parent company of one of the families businesses. And the brothers companies both own and run Aldis in different countries.

Aldi Cheese and Sour Cream potato chips and Extra Toasty wanna be cheese-its taste better than the originals!!! (Which I stay away from these days). Also their Keto burger buns are awesome. Regular black lined extra stretch Glad bags are what I use though.

The Lime Tostedos are so great! I've tried so many other brands of lime chips including Aldi, Late July, etc, but the Tostedos are definitely worth the extra money.

Very informative. I really like the fact that you get to the point. I don’t have to listen to ten minutes of bull before you get to the point.

Aldi now has scented trash bags and they also have the drawstrings. We get Aldi’s brand cinnamon toast crunch and it’s $1.99/ box and it’s perfect. I have a suggestion: in my family, hummus is a good group. Aldi’s red pepper hummus vs Sabra. To me, the Aldi actually taste more like homemade. Also solid white tuna in water is the absolute best on the market. Please give it a try. It’s the one with the red on the label.

I make Chicken Satay Sliders with my sweet rolls. Add a side of sweet potato fries and honey mustard and I'm set. ALDI has some really great stuff on the cheap. I can buy twice as much as Wal-Mart and still get it cheaper. A gallon of milk is a little over $2. At Wal-Mart, it's around $3.46. When the butter is $1.99/lb., we get the max limit of 6. I like ALDI. But they're about 25 miles/30 minutes away from where I live.

Aldi is my place to shop. My 2 yr. old great-granddaughter and I shop once a week after we take her brother to school. She loves it. The products are just as good as the name brand stores...some things you like, some you don't at either store. Vivian...you are fun to watch...you should have a spot at improv...you're funny.

I went to Aldi’s a few days ago and saw these shakes. I wondered if they were as good as the premier protein which are also my favorite. Makes a great base for smoothies and even use it as creamer for tea and coffee. Now I know the Aldo brand will do just fine. Thanks Vivian! You’re a MF professional!

If you like Life cereal try it vs. the Aldi brand, Balance Multigrain Cereal (the original style of both); they are about as close to identical as you can get.

We use Kirkland kitchen bags from Costco and they are great. Never broken yet, even when heavy and full. They have the stretchy and reinforced look with drawstrings. Scented nicely.

Aldi trash bags are my favorite!!! They sell the ones with draw string too. They’ve never failed me. I bought name brand bags in a pinch and I’m always disappointed.

I used the off brand trash bags for years but when I got together with my husband he only used Glad bags. Now I buy name brand household products on most of our supplies because they’re honestly better quality. I hate spending more but they’re worth the extra cost.

My go to for trash bags would be the Home Depot house brand. It used to be called HDX. Now it's called Moxy I think. They are the same high quality flex bags that are WAY cheaper per bag.

I usually BUY MOST of my bag needs @ ALDI. I'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH the TRASH SMELL. The STRETCH BAGS really STRETCH. The Large Yard Bags are FLIMSY & TEAR EASILY. The STORAGE BAGS(ie: Gallon Freezer & Storage, QT Freezer & Storage, Zip Sandwich Bags) are A GREAT PRICE for the AMOUNT you get. Thank you so much for doing these Videos. They are very helpful with making purchases easier. Have a Blesses Day.
