My first car maintenance lesson with my Dad on his car was tyre pressure check every Saturday morning, I didn't inherit the car but the top pocket pressure gauge put's a smile on my face every time I use it. Love you Dad, forever in my memories. RIP

The way that you talk about your relationship with your dad tells me everything that I need to know about your character. Not that I doubted before, but great story, Matt. And what an absolutely fitting tribute to your pops. He gets the smile and you get the keepsake. I lost my dad to cancer back in 2019. I was 45, so was lucky to have known him into adulthood. But stuff like this just hits. In a good way. Nice work, young fella.

This brought memories of when my dad got me,3 sisters and 2 brothers together and got us out in the big garage were he showed us and let us take apart the engine to his race car. I learnt so much. I still can replace starters, spark plugs, break an engine down,replace a transmission, front end, etc and its always such a blessing and memories so get it done and no matter what you and your dad will always have a close bond. Its going to rock once it all gets completed. Really am excited watching this video and all the other ones

My older sister has the same car. Her's was yellow. I loved being in that car with her. She was murdered when I was 11 and to this day, 30+ years later. I don't know what her husband ever did with it😢 this video brought back some good memories! 💛

Just clicked on and can already tell I’m gonna dig it. From my birth till age 7 dad had a 68 RS/SS 396 4 speed car that was used as his drag car. When I was 19 my first wife took one off my paychecks to go buy a 68 RS 4 speed big block car I had been looking at for a few weeks. Still have that car along with a tube chassied carbon fiber bodied 68 with a 636” big block. Both of mine along with dads are the same color that yours was before you painted it. Looking forward to seeing you getting yours streetable again.

Matt, Ive got a 1967 Camero with a 327 powerglide transmission on the collumn. Rebuilt the motor and restored it however Ive got to restore the outside of it. The quarter panels etc. When my dad and I were done and the Camero was painted thats when my dad was excited he almost jumped into my arms he was awesome but passed away from stage 4 lung Cancer and now I have to fix up the outside again and have it repainted. I cant wait to get it all fixed up again it was my mom's first car. Have a great and safe day

That’s awesome! It’s amazing how a car can be so important and almost be a family member. I have my grandparents 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V, my aunt has my grandfathers 1968 Corvette Convertible and my great uncle had a 1970 DeTomaso Mangusta that unfortunately was sold off a few years after my great uncle passed. I always wished I could have gotten that Mangusta because my great uncle was basically what I wanted to be when I grew up and just seeing that car brought back so many great memories from when he was around.

Ive own my 68 Camaro for the last 19 years. It’s been a drivable project for the last 17 years because life has gotten in the way but no more. I’m in the process of fingering out of my motor is good and having it built. This winter i will have a 396 big block, 700r4 trans and a 373 geared 12 bolt rear end in her and. Hopefully next winter (2024) the body and interior will be done.. it’s crazy for me I’ve had mine for 19 years and I can’t see life with out her… Good luck and enjoy your car, hopefully mine (Catherine) will be there also one day!!!

Love the program brother, that is a great story! This has the makings of a father son maybe grandpa build. Think how awesome it would be to turn the wrenches with Lincoln! Do it , just do it! I have a 2005 GMC Sierra crew cab SLT Duramax diesel and I love working on it with my sixteen year old grandson. I look forward to working on it with him like a kid waiting for Christmas. We lost his older brother last year three days before Christmas and I have really realized how important every single heartbeat is and I have been working on keeping everything straight you know in perspective…anyway, peace out!

@@chuckdoom7665 A big block LS engine, do tell. I won't claim to be an expert on LS engines but I've been building and racing Chevy's for 35 years and I've not heard of any LS big blocks unless you are referring to the Vortec 8.1 engines.

Iv had my z28 camaro since I graduated in 2011. It’s been on jack stands since 2014 😢 I did the same thing you guys did. Fixed and replaced everything, forged stroker engine, t56, 12 bolt moser, and a full bmr suspension. It should be running in a few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited! Iv probably sank 30 grand into the car over the years 😂🫡

Glad to see you get it done sooner rather than later. Life is short and there are no guarantees. Better to have it and enjoy it as long as possible. My Pops was heathy as a horse and then one day he only had 4 months left. 4 months to the day he was gone. Have no regrets and don't waste any days because we only have so many of them and they aren't making any extras.

I wish I could do this for my dad....he gave up his dream truck to help me when i needed it.He and I did so much work on it and then something terrible came my way and he sold it to help me out.
