I loved the video great information. I am just a beach beach beach person. Been to most of Sandals resorts which we love but now really don't like to have to travel for 2 days. wish they had one in Mexico. Is there seaweed in December? Bike ride looked interesting is there traffic, don't like riding in traffic. Do you know what the prefered club was like? Thanks Great work thanks

I'm going through this video series again. My wife and I are planning another trip to a Secrets. Top 3 are Akumal, Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres and Cap Cana again. We're planning it for end of June 2025. We've only been to Cap Cana and loved it and would like to return, but I wonder if there are things we're missing out from the other two resorts I listed. Playa Blanca is new but by next year, it will be fully operational and the kinks should be worked out. I never even considered Akumal because I assumed it was more expensive. Currently Cap Cana is the most, followed by Akumal, then Playa Mujeres. But I know price isn't the only factor. It's usually the first thing. Akumal looks amazing though.

This resort is great. If you want to snorkel, then this is the place to go. I go out 3 or 4 times a day when we stay here.

For the Cancun area, I like Atelier best right now. Hard to say what you’d like because I don’t know you 😊 I like VIM a lot. I also like Majestic. I probably liked this Secrets best out of all I’ve been to in Cancun.

About 11 minutes into the video there was a pan over of what looked like a bunch of different vendors? Curious more about that. Looking at vacationing here for the amenities and seclusion, but do appreciate that hotel zone has shopping near by.

Watching these videos for the umpteenth time lol. Considering for 11 nights late September but a little concerned about September weather. I always feel like the beach lovers miss out a little on the treats, pool guests seem a little better looked after. Maybe it's just a logistical thing, can't really take ice cream truck on the sand lol

Thank you 😊 I enjoyed Atelier slightly more (food wise) but I really loved Akumal. If I had to decide between the two, I’d probably pick whatever what cheaper as they both were great!

I remember when those swim masks like Kevin was wearing first came out I was one of the first people to get one. Everytime I wore it people would point at me and look at me like a space alien or something. Now everybody has the swim mask with built in snorkel. Haha.

I’m heading to Secrets Akumal in December, and am so excited for a much needed vacation. I always appreciate your videos as they’re so informative and well done. Just wondering, was the tiramisu martini on the menu at Portofino, or did you just ask them to bring you something special? I’m always too shy to do that, but it seems like that’s the way people discover new drinks and foods that become favourites.

Yes, we travel every Christmas 🎄 to be honest, I am not a fan of holiday decorations/ festivities, so I’m not a good one to ask! But almost all resorts celebrate. I’ve been to 2 different Majestic resorts over Christmas, and they probably do the most that I’ve personally seen.

I am thinking about booking for Secrets Akumal but I find that pool/beach service menu deceiving for an expensive resort of the sort. I would expect to find tuna/salmon tartare and fresh seafood.

You’ll find those options at an ala carte restaurant. Poolside lunch is quick service.

Oceana! It was all their sweets on one plate. They made us a “little” sampler, since we only went in for dessert. The peanut butter mousse was my favorite 🙂
