I always enjoy watching your videos. Excellent review of this resort. This is getting me excited as my wife and I will be going for 3 days 3 noches x2,(6 nights),in June 2025. We went with a swim out room non preferred. We had a swim out room for one night at Secrets Cap Cana last year and loved it so we decided we like the idea of being able to swim at night after dinner. Even though there's no drink service at them. Happy belated birthday. You look great for 50.

We're Preferred Club UVC members and Secrets is our go to resort chain. I was looking for something in March and this was perfect timing. We don't usually get the swim up room because we like our balcony space and the ocean view. The thing we like about Secrets is that the pool areas have something for everyone. If you want to sit quietly and read a book you can. If you want to have some music and activities you can. I will say that if you have a preferred room the cabanas should be included in your price. One of the perks of our UVC membership is we generate World Of Hyatt points on our trips. Of all our travels at Secrets resorts, Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana had the best entertainment. And the staff there is fantastic. Secrets Cozumel was a close srcond on entertainment.

Hey Happy belated 50th!! What a great place to celebrate! I was hoping you'd review some Secrets resorts. This resort along with Secrets Maroma (beach is amazing there btw) and Secrets Cap Cana seem to be consistently on lists of best all inclusive resorts in the world. Secrets Akumal certainly isn't cheap but for this level of quality it doesn't seem terrible. How would you say the value for money was (if someone was paying normal advertised rates) compared to say a Hyatt Ziva or Excellence property that are around the same price point?? I'm looking forward to your take on preferred club. Thanks! Oh BTW does your Travelingos deal work for Canadians??

So I have been binge watching your videos! I love Cancun and we travel their every July. We are Palace Elite members but I like to watch your videos on other resorts for if I ever decide to try another one although I feel spoiled and am afraid nothing else will compare. I have not found any other resort that I may possibly be interested in with any lower rates than I get as a member. I've always said I missed my calling as a travel agent because I love to travel so much! So when you travel for 3 days, do you go Friday through a Monday?

@@jacksonleung4479 we love it. We go to Sun Palace every year. We have stayed at Beach Palace, Le Blanc Cancún and I’ve been to Le Blanc Cabo. They are all great. I do feel it is worth it when I talk to other people having bad experiences at other resorts!

I loved this resort, but it does get it's share of seaweed at certain times of the year. It was bad in Feb of 22 and again a storm came in around March 2023 and left it pretty bad for a few days.

So I told them when I got there BUT you can let them know ahead of time and they will decorate the door etc. also you just have to tell them at the restaurants for the cakes etc and if you want anything else your concierge can help too. So fun!!! I’m jealous

Greetings! I’m thinking of taking my wife to Mexico for her 50th in 2 weeks but I don’t know whether tulum or cancun is better. I can’t really find a resort in tulum that has all the bells and whistles as Kamal. I’m finding there’s always something hindering the quality either something with the location, room, actual hotel, or beach. The biggest problem for Secrets for us was the timeshare/vacation club pitch, and the dress code for all the dinner restaurants for men, we are on vacation and don’t want to have to dress up every night for dinner. It why we will not be back to a Secrets, however the staff was wonderful as always in Mexico.

We got a preference club room, however they were trying to get us to do a presentation for a vacation club. I don’t ever want to spend my precious vacation time on a sales pitch. Also my husband was really annoyed about the dinner dress code, we are on vacation so he did not want to have to get dressed up.

Barcelo is a fairly nice resort but isn't nearly as nice as either Secrets or Hyatt Ziva but its also significantly less expensive. If you are looking for a fairly upscale resort at not a crazy expensive price take a look at Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana. Not quite as nice as Secrets Akumal or Maroma but Its the best bang for $ higher end resort I've been to. Mind you with the Travelingos deal Akumal might be around same $ as Royal Beach.

I believe most Secrets resorts have Don Julio tequila (among others) in the non preferred club bars so you can still get high end tequila without the upgrade.
