Watched ur videos on the Hyatt zilara & secrets cap Cana… I’ve been looking @ these two & can’t decide. Which one did u recommend between the two?

We are looking at Secrets Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. We are in our 60’s and love to spend time at the pool and beach, love good food and some evening entertainment. Which of these two resorts would you recommend.

Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S

They do have elevators and the resort is very walkable. Considering knee issues I’d imagine they could accommodate you with a golf cart, definitely have your travel agent coordinate that prior to booking.

Hi Annie! Both are great resorts and will depend in your personal travel style. Cap Cana is a bit more laid back while Royal Beach is much more upbeat. RB is also on a popular public beach with alot going on (also has a small casino onsite), Cap Cana is in a gated community with a more private beach but much quieter. In our opinion you cant go wrong with either. To high level it, Cap Cana is probably a bit more romantic and grand, while RB is a bit more upbeat. Hope this helps!

Hi Haley, a lot of unpack in the comments section, I’d recommend tuning into our review podcast of Secrets RB and I we go into good detail on the differences. It really depends on your personal travel style. RB was recently renovated (2020), and is more upbeat (casino on site, large amphitheater, good night life), secrets CC is on a private beach, a tad quieter in our opinion. CC Will typically price out a tad higher. If you want something more laid back and like a private beach consider CC, if you want a tad more upbeat, go RB. Hey! Thanks for tuning into the channel! The pool should be comfortable in March (it can be a tad chilly depending on recent weather, cloud cover, or recent rain. Obviously the closer you are to summer the better but March should be OK.

Great video! This has us excited for our trip next week! Do the restaurants all really require pants? The website says pants are required at a majority of the restaurants, but seeing mixed feedback on some forums. I know I got away with dressier shorts at Sandals, so wondering if I can do the same.

Hi Christopher! If you don’t want to wear pants typically at Secrets you’ll always have the option to sit out on the patios of the restaurants (many of them have nice outdoor seating). George didn’t wear pants at all while there. Hope this helps! ☺️

Hi There! They do have a night club, this resort offers a nice balance of both laid back and if you want to stay up late, you can do that too.

Hi! The enhanced preferred club amenities were nice! You could go either way and still really enjoy your stay, we enjoyed it and would do it again when we go back. It really depends on what you want to get out of your vacation. Hope this helps and thanks for tuning into our channel ☺️

@@PenyakTravel Do you need to reserve all the al a carte restaurants at the beginning of your stay? I guess if you have concierge service, they book for you?

@@patpierre2471 you can, however I believe the only restaurant that you’ll absolutely need a reservation for is the Hibachi restaurant. Your butler can handle the reservations for you on arrival. Hope this helps!

Great video! We are excited to go this October to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Quick question....saw another video where the couple mentioned that smoking was the only drawback. They found there were a number of people smoking in areas that were non-smoking and that the Resort staff did not stop that from happening. They mentioned it because it was something they had to smell in areas where they really shouldn't have been. Did you notice that as well?

Hi! They are both very close, I’d also give the pools a sliiiight edge to Hyatt, but it would ultimately come down to personal preference after that. Secrets will cater more towards couples. New follower here. Did you have an issue with alot of people smoking outside of the smoking zone area at Cap Cana? I’ve read numerous people complain about that.

Hey Lisa! Thanks for stopping by our channel! We don’t recall noticing anything when we were there however people can bend/break the rules. I wish we had better input on this but we can only go by our own experience there. Hope this helps!

I was there last week (mid-March 2023), and generally people didn't follow the smoking area rules. One good thing was that there weren't many people smoking, so I can't say it really made a negative impact. Generally, it would be encountering people smoking while walking while we were walking. Honestly, it was more annoying from a "how hard is it to follow the rules?" angle than "I'm breathing in someone else's smoke," though that did happen when walking behind a group of smokers to the nightly concert area. That said, the smoking is more "tacky" than "oppressive." I didn't see a single person smoking inside the restaurants, but unfortunately, we did see more than a few people doing a bad job of "sneaking" low-cloud vape hits inside, especially in the "preferred" bar.

Hey Paul. I stayed at margaritaville cap cana a few weeks ago. Sanctuary is currently undergoing renovations and are not open. Margarittaville is great btw. Beach at secrets is much much better though.
