*Summary:-* 1. Putting self effort. In a company there are plenty of developers on any given project. The one who gets to work on the best part of the project is the person who shows genuine interest in the project, puts in self effort, actually participates in discussions and adds valuable points. In the starting phase of your job, if you encounter something new ask your seniors about it and don't just stick to self researching it on Google. Good points Umang. Let me add some from the management point of view: 1. Your manager is busy, so if you see issues you need their support with, you need to tell them. 2. If you point out a problem, you are expected to have prepared a set of solutions (bc. your manager is busy). 3. Ask your manager what you can improve, also outside of your performance reviews. The more painful the criticism, the more you will improve. Probably. 4. From a certain point onwards, what differentiates an average from a normal or mediocre dev is not in the realm of technical skills: a) Attitude b) Understanding business, cost and ROI c) Communicating to non-technical entities in the company, as well as non-native English speakers d) Seeing the whole picture (not just your team, but your department and the company) I hope that makes sense 😅

In reality, managers are NOT always busy. Yes they have more meetings but it is their job ,to identify issues if an IC is facing problems.
