While Dolly Madison was busy directing a handful of servants in saving the portrait and copies of the Constitution and Declaration, among other irreplaceable treasures, since most VIP's, including the Cabinet, had fled, guess where her husband, the President, was? Little James, who today might be called a geek, was out in the field with the troops covering the city. Was he directing them, as Commander in Chief? No, he was not. When the Major said he only needed intelligence of British movements, President Madison volunteered to ride out as the scout for the Army of Washington DC. He was in civilian clothes and could have been killed, but his country was under attack. He had no cabinet or Congress to supervise, and his wife was saving the artifacts, so he chose to help in the most useful way. That is a true leader!

Plus it seems like a good idea to not switch to a new administration that knows nothing yet at such a volatile time. So he ran and won, easily. There was no law against running again at that point. The incoming Presidential Family decorates the Whitehouse according to their tastes not some arbitrary decorator. So, it would be a waste of time for them to do that. And, I doubt very much if 6 hours was all the time used to move out, but even so, the Whitehouse decor is purchased with taxpayer money and does not belong to the outgoing family. They may have personal items that need to be moved but that is it.
@kathrynstruck45556 жыл бұрын
True! Every incoming president is alloted money to redecorate the living apartment according to their tastes. If decor is bought by the president, then it goes out with him and his family. And probably this happens. I do believe the move is done quickly these days. I think parts of it start the night before (or days before if the items are not needed) and then the big move is done in the day. But with lots of movers, that should not be a problem. And you know the gov't gets lots of packers/movers to make it happen. Magic!

Your superpower enemy, isn't Russia or China anymore, it's me, BEN from Sweden! Now I revealed the darkest evil in your hearts, American and I'm going to fight AGAINST you hereafter. I will fight against you, like David and Goliath, the giant. I will "slaughter" you just as I want. "They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly." Psalms 17:10 "Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice." Psalms 68:1-3 "The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand." Proverbs 12:7 "And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.19. They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image." Psalms 106:18-19 "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir." Isaiah 13:11-12 /Ben Nilsson, Sweden

Americans have become too soft. I fully agree with Trump, and feel that buying packaged cheese, no matter how finely chopped it is, could easily be overcome. Make America grate again, and we will be better for it.

At 1:51 that is actually a picture of the Obama staff taken the day President-elect Trump visited Obama at the White House. No, they don't look like they are having a great time.
