This podcast has been a great resource for listening. I play the lottery, and I’ve had experience with dealing with money amounting in the hundreds of thousands and up to about $1 million. This guy seems to be pretty knowledgeable. It is a very different experience to handle this kind of money. Everyone thinks your concerns are gone with the money, but you just begin a whole different journey with the new wealth. One thing I think would be great to see on your channel here is more people like this attorney who handle high net worth individuals. Resources like that would be awesome.

I won $3.6 million around 2012. 1) interview wealth management bankers. All banks have a separate division to look after high net worth clients. In the end I pay 0.6% management fees. They get me the best rates on loans ect. No more waiting in line😀. 2) after my divorce I ended up with $2.6 million. Just on dividends and bonds I get between $120k to $135k a year just to live on. If you can’t live on that change. My truck is 10 yrs old, a million dollar house but I live modestly, for the most part. 3)The best advice I got was to put that money in your account. Then wait one full year just so it sinks in. On the one year anniversary my first big purchase was double meat on a subway sub.

You can most definitely get more money than that. U have to invest. That 2.5mill can turn into more very quickly and living off of 120k while having 2.5mill plus stocks and other investments is crazy u can have more.

I have a friend who won 3 million. I told him DON’T TELL ANYONE! He didn’t listen and told everyone. The worst people were his family! Even 3 years later he can’t answer his phone as everyone wants money. He lost his family (they were awful!) I was shocked as I knew them) He lost most of his friends. Everyone thought he should pay off their house, pay for a swimming pool etc. Whatever you do, don’t tell anyone if you win!

If I could get my money anonymously in this state I would not tell anyone. I'm glad I know how to say no to people. Doesn't matter how they beg. Even if I did give money to someone I would do it anonymously or pay for something for them without them knowing it was me... And I would probably just buy a house with a little horse property, pay off my current home and rent it to a disabled person for whatever they could afford... Money is great but when people know you have it they tend to show their true colors.

The Oregon lottery winner who got $1.3 B this April claimed it pretty quickly and with numbers I have REGULARLY played for years! I just didn't happen to play them on that evening. And he won in the same city I live in. I was literally going through all my pockets looking for a ticket I thought I must have forgotten about. It was wild! But he had cancer at that time and he and his family bought tickets in hopes of having the resources to heal. He gave an interview and he was so kind and humble. I am glad he won.

However, the point he is making is IF you sign it, that ticket is now a bearer document. i.e. a check of sorts and can only be cashed by the individual that signed AS they signed it. Like an endorsement on a check. If is says your name only you can claim it. Not a Trust in your name. Not anyone else or any other entity. If is says your name AND your wife's name, BOTH of you must be present to claim it. If it says OR, then either can claim it individually. So if you want the option to claim it anonymously or in any other way other than you individually, you need to leave it blank.

Sage, practical advice from the lawyer. It sheds light on the fact that even the state lottery agencies are not out for the winners' best interest. I remember going into a state's lottery office with my claim form, and the state employee at the customer service window told me that I had a ticket too old to redeem. It was a scratcher that was still active and being sold. Another employee at a desk in the back had to correct the person at the window. It was a horrific thought, thinking that this was the level of training given to the state employees handling thousands of dollars in winnings. I should have checked the trash bins outside, just in case anyone else got the same bad information and threw their tickets away.

Lump Sum is always the best choice, pay your dues then build layers of protections around yourself. everybody coming for you even those lawyers, financial advisers, government entities. live within your means. Invest your money into appreciated assets so you can live off of it.

I have noticed that when you buy quick pics vs your own numbers. If you have multiple plays on the same ticket I have noticed that a lot of times that the same Power or mega ball is repeated in two of the sets of numbers. I know you can win with those numbers but a lot of plays will have the same number in the first 5 numbers. Sometimes it just doesn't seem to be very random. If I picked my own numbers I would try not to repeat numbers.
