Waalaikum salaam warahmatullah wabarakatuh He's basically saying that arriving at the truth goes beyond reading books...sitting in lectures...going to school...conducting experiments and so on and so forth. All that has to be linked to Allah through obeying His commands. The example he gave was of very brilliant scholars who have studied...etc but end up justifying evil because they have gone against the commands and prohibitions of Allah. So while on one hand they are very smart..from a dunya perspective...their intellect leads them to falsehood because they have gone beyond the limits set by Allah. I hope that somewhat sheds some light? Read the Surah again and see if it makes sense. In sha Allah it does. May Allah increase you. Allahumma Ameen
