If a man has this in his life, then he has all the riches of the world right there in front of him.

Thank you for sharing your experiment. I've been recently feeding sunflower seeds to the birds in our yard and the chickadees love them. But I was curious about whether or not they'd like some other kind of feed so today I bought a small bag of bird food (some sunflower seeds and other grains). I put a little down on the feeder and the chickadees weren't interested in anything but the sunflower seeds. Juncos showed interest in both kinds. Anyway, now I know I won't be successful trying to get the chickadees to feed the new food from my hand. Thank you again. Good observation.

Try peanuts. I offer my chickadees both peanut hearts and sunflower kernels and some take one and some the other. Same with the nuthatches. I have also gotten downy woodpeckers to eat from the hand a few times by removing the suet feeder they feed on every day and holding a block of suet in my hand in the same spot they are used to eating suet. The other bird you can fairly easily get to eat from the hand is hummingbirds -- if you get one of those hand-held hummer feeders like the Humbutton.

I was going to go buy some Black Oil Sunflower seeds because some birds in my neighborhood liked them. Instead I found a bag of bird feed with corn millet, sunflower seeds etc.. For some reason they weren't eating it. Even when I wasn't there... I'm probably going to go to a park and try my luck there. Great video by the way!

This is a wonderful video. I love feeding birds and I have taken friends and family to places to feed birds. The Grandchildren especially enjoy the birds landing on their hand. I have never been to this park but it’s close to where I live and I will visit it. I’ll be watching out for you and perhaps you can teach me a few tricks. I have a photo to share if you are interested. Thanks again.

Well, how would you or I know the difference? Through our eyes. Birds have much keener vision than humans, anything a human can see, a bird can definitely see.
