Thanks for the interesting video. The first time you mentioned TY, I was thinking Queen TY. I never knew about this fellow. He must have been quite an interesting person. The tomb must have been a great source of cultural information. I'd like to see the whole thing in detail someday. Once again your wonderful photographer caught a great image of you in the thumbnail. This time it looks like you just looked at that handsome statue, turned to the camera and thought to yourself; "ISN'T HE A DREAM". I have to admit he is handsome. Sorry to say he's a bit too old for you. LOL!!! Just kidding of course. I'm eagerly awaiting your next vid. ALL THE BEST!!!😃

Saqqara so large and beautiful in different eras of Egypt, which makes it so hard to describe in one video. The mastabas are so pretty with their stories and colors. Saqqara is the city of the dead for the Egyptians, thank you so much for the video Irena. Your friend from Key West Ingrid Holm.

Too little attention is paid to the Saqqara mastabas on KZbin, I will try to change that! Even though it's not easy to film in Saqqara, I will try to visit my favorite tombs this summer. Thank you Ingrid, best regards!

Wow !!! Saqqara’s mastabas are a treasure trove of stories, absolutely incredible. Thank you for bringing us another fascinating video. I as always look forward to your next journey. All the crocodiles in the underworld must be well feed with all the tomb robbers, 😂 One could only imagine how magnificent these wonderful buildings would have looked like if they were all left intact. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺❤️

I found your channel months ago via a brief reading you did for the channel History with Cy, and I've been quite addicted since then! I was blessed to be able to take a bucket list trip to Egypt for two weeks and my group hit all the highlights of course, and we had them all to ourselves since it was 2021 and people were still staying home because of Covid. But you show us places that we never would have heard about otherwise. Thank you so much for taking us along with you on your trips, not only to Egypt but to Greece, Turkey and Malta. I have been fascinated with all things Egyptian since a child and that fascination sure isn't slowing down any time soon!

if you want to visit the Serapeum, start there, then drive to the Djoser complex (drivers there are cheap). there will be a lot of mastabas next to each other, you can also enter the pyramid of Unas (start with it, because it closes at the earliest). I'm glad you liked it, best regards ❣️

Great Video! The High Priest of Bat, Ty - Served with several kings of the 5th Dynasty. Ty was a High Priest of at least 3 Orders; High Priest of Bat (Bapef), Sem High Priest, and High Priest of Anu-paa (Anubis). Often called 'Royal Hairdresser,' which is mistranslated, it should be translated as 'Royal HEAD Dresser,' and actually refers to one of his roles as High Priest of Anupaa, about the care of the Nesi's (Kings) head related to his wearing of the Atef Crown.

How did they do all this 4500 years ago? Just moving and lifting those stones would be an incredible accomplishment. To also shape them with such precision is mind boggling. The incredible complexity of the statues. The vast amount of art and hieroglyphs. How did they inspire and organize such a massive workforce? How can they accomplish all these things at that time but not have devised a wheel and axle. That makes no sense. It almost makes me want to believe in the Egyptian gods.

Your explanation of ancient sites in Egypt makes me living in that period 4000 yrs ago. Then I get confused what role, whether I play a "Pharaoh" or his royal family member?or his army chief?or temple priest?or his scribe?or his architect?or builder?or his palace servant?or overseer of horses?or cook ?or agriculturist? or war prisoner? This war prisoner assumption gives me scoropion bite,b'cose I shall assume Pharoah shall behead me.
