I find most of Gisselle's vlogs in Cairo not only informative (as they're meant to be) but also entertaining (love a fellow motorcycle rider). This vlog is a special one, with voice-over-video narration and music makes it extra impressive. Big accomplishment for Egypt!

Now you've really pulled at my heartstrings, Gisselle!! What a beautiful video you have presented to us here. The Grand Egyptian Museum is truly spectacular in every way, and you have more than done it justice. Your thoughtful and knowledgeable commentary adds so much to the stunning visuals throughout. I was bowled over by the beauty of the diverse presentations, incorporating so many aspects of the Egyptians' ancient life. When you rose to the top of the grand staircase at 6:52 and revealed the wonderful and evocative view of the Pyramids through the Museum windows, I became so emotional! But don't ask me why!! I just found that moment so awe-inspiring and intense. As always, your chosen music was so appropriate, bringing out the mystical and uplifting nature of your sensitive and hugely effective presentation. The digital projections you showed at 17:08 were mind-blowing and fascinating, and I think they truly immortalise the mysticism and majesty of the artistic depictions of life in those ancient times. Can I presume that many of the artefacts were contributed by other museums in Egypt, and from worldwide perhaps? Thank you for all the hard work you put into producing this stunning video, Gisselle. 😀W

Yes, this museum is truly magnificent! To begin with, it's simply a beautiful building. Inside the galleries it is very spacious, giving you a wide, open and free feeling. It also adds to the grandeur. It is kept at a comfortable temperature and is well lit. With the pyramids off in the distance able to be seen through several windows, it's majestic. The music they played in the background (although not heard in the video) was very appropriate for the galleries as well. And those digital projections! Wow! I absolutely loved it. It caught me completely off guard, I was quite breathless when I saw the images were moving. Genius! To be honest, I am not sure if artifacts have been donated to this museum. But I know Egypt would like their looted cultural heritage back, such as the Rosetta Stone at the British Museum and the Dendera Zodiac at the Louvre. What I can say with certainty is that they have been moving artifacts from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to the GEM. But as of yet, King Tut's possessions are still at the old museum. Thank you so William! 🥰

Any documentaries about Ancient Egypt on television and I'm there. When looking at the intricacies of their jewellery, carvings and the engineering wonders involved in constructing their buildings, I have to wonder if we are being rather arrogant referring to the Ancient Egyptians primitive. This is a wonderful video explaining the layout of the newly opened galleries, and giving a taster of what to expect. The GEM is definitely on my list of places to see.
