FYI: "Peeing ice cubes" simply means that he's extremely cold-hearted and wouldn't think twice about offing someone. Other than his own family, human lives are meaningless to him. What a beautiful home that was at one time. Such a shame that it has been vandalized. Thanks for the tour.

Love learning about abandoned places in Italy, my mum and dad are from Italy. The Dosso family had ties to the mafia and you never betray them. My mum and nonna when they lived in italy, I remember my mum telling me back then Mussolini had control of everything. Some of the stories my mum told me was unbelievable. Great explore Dave was awesome to see all the old furniture and photos keep up the great work 🤘🏼❤️

12:49 - When your friend is talking about post mortem pictures ? They were very common back in the mid to late 1800s especially when the cost of being photographed were out of the reach of many people, because they were quite expensive to have done for the average family. Some of the saddest you'll find are the pictures of infants and young children who died. VERY common in those days. They will often be the only picture ever taken of the child. That precious picture is often one of the few physical things left to remember a young life by, for grieving parents. There are some channels on You Tube dedicated to showing whole collections of these sorts of historic, post mortem photos.

okay, so I love this house. It is REALLY OLD. The red and blue checkering on the ceiling is probably Italian Renaissance, so 1500's. The old timber and solid stone stairs are much older than the 1800's. The frescos on some of the ceilings also hint at the Renaissance. The workshop bench was probably the wine cellar given how low it sat and would have had really big wine barrels all along it. You can see the pie safe and shelfs for canned goods on the other side of the room. Plus no windows, so a really nice, cool cellar. The main entry looks to have been updated in the Regency period, early 1800's. Marble stairs, ornate plaster work and metal railing were very popular features and new money of the period liked to "improve" old houses. I believe the painted vine ceiling in that front bedroom is probably from that time. It looks like the last time the house was updated was the 1970's given the wood paneling throughout. That incredible room with the hidden office and the bad 70's wallpaper, that mighy have been either the main hall of the ancient lord, maybe a dining hall or it might have been the chapel, which grand homes of the Renaissance would have. You are right about the out buildings being servants quarters as well. Very common to have apartments all throughout the grounds, and the cottage where the parents stayed in their later years would have been one of those, and a very nice one. They probably liked being out of the big house because it would have been much easier to keep warm in the winter than the main house. It is an amazing house. Thank you for braving it ❤

STOP TALKING NONSENSE! This is the "Cascina Dosso Stalluzzo", a FARM! The name is that of the structure and IT'S NOT OF THE FAMILY! I don't know who the family you mention is, but it has nothing to do with this place and the people who lived there. Dosso Stalluzzo In 1713 it belonged to the Azzanelli nobles, an important and ancient family from Soncino. In 1826 it was still the Azzanellis who organized particular benefits for the farmers of the farmhouse... This is a typical Lombard agricultural structure called "cascina" and in Italy we usually give names to certain structures (for example Cascina Merlata, Podere Facciano etc. .) and the name of the structure is NOT that of those who live there. In fact, on the sign at 0:36 we read "AZ. AGR" i.e. "Azienda Agricola" and again "Azienda Agricola Cascina Dosso Stalluzzo" on the letter at 28:16. Also, the farm is abandoned but the company is still there, so this is private property! I'm sorry, guys. I don't know who told you this story :/ but you filmed a typical farm, with a typical peasant family. Ah At minute 36:20 the names Fidelio, Macbeth, Norma etc. are the names of the WEDDING TABLES (probably the theme is Opera because all these are names of theatrical works), the guests are written under the name of each table.

The Victorians took death photos of their loved ones, you can tell which one is dead because the eyes are very focused as opposed to the people blinking which made them look a bit fuzzy. It took a long time to create a photo. I guess they had different attitude to death as they experienced more than we do nowadays and they probably didn't have any family photos as they were super expensive
