Secrets of Unreleased Superman Kenner Action Figures

The Kenner Superman Man of Steel action figure toy line was meant to go on past what was released. Here are two figure packs meant for that toy line as we can see from the back of the Deluxe figures card backs. They were designed for the line so let's add them to their rightful home in the Man of Steel figures of 1995 and 1996. Metallo makes for a great addition to Superman's own Rogue's Gallery. And the newly rediscovered King Shark tried to make himself more well known even back in the 90's. There was no need to wait for The Suicide Squad movie. A Superman and Super Boy accompany them in these DC Super Heroes boxes released by Hasbro after buying out Kenner.

If you’re wondering, Street Guardian Superboy did make it to prototype and test shot phase . I own a test shot of that one.

I could only guess he got far in production, pretty cool to know. Not sure why the brakes got put on him.

An unreleased Superboy figure also got released under the JSA banner. He was suppose to come with a vehicle. So the figure is in a strange pose.

Yeah the squatting sitting one. Looks like a lot of DC figures were going to just get put under this Superman Line but they dumped the packaging since it wasn't Batman level sales I guess. It always surprised me it took them so long to start sneaking other DC heroes into Batman toy lines.

1:35 I wonder if Hasbro didnt have a 4th unreleased Man of Steel figure that they wanted to put out there, so they just took that Full Assault Superman and quickly made a new head for him to use in this 2-pack? I LOVE this Metallo figure, I really gotta grab this pack and some of these Man of Steel figures. The King Shark vs Superboy 2-pack dont seem as action oriented as the rest of the line, which goes along with how all the 2-pack figures were. Definitely might track down that Metallo and a couple of figures from this line now.

Metallo really looks like he belonged to the Man of Steel style line. They seemed worthy to included.

@@MBXfilms Yeah and since you have packaging with him shown on the cardback, I'd say it's a safe bet that he was 100% going to be part of the Man of Steel line.

I think Superboy's shades are supposed to be based on the weird X-ray goggles he had on briefly in the comic.

A nice effort to be comic accurate to some degree starting around this time. Not sure if his surf gear is anything super accurate though.

@@MBXfilmsYeah, it's kind of a weird combination. I do know he actually did have a special surfboard in at least one issue but I can't remember if he actually had a custom wetsuit too, I haven't read the earlier Superboy issues in ages.

King Shark is a New DC Villain in 1990s Comics Book Villain.

Oh sure. More of a "The Supermen" categorization, and playing as him in the video game, though you play as Cyborg Superman a lot also in that. Wish he had a toy also back with this line.
