In this episode we are back in the shop and using the BSB Load Stick to collect data and learn how to make our Street Stock Faster. I marked the front shocks and now we are pulling the car down and seeing just exactly how much weight those tires were taking.

Glad you finally put jam nuts on then weight jackers. Mid race self adjustment is a bad deal! My advice on bite, dont go over 150 lbs with this spring combo. Also next time you scale, add your full fuel weight at the end of the session so you know weather youre gaining or losing cross/bite numbers. This way you can better predict where the car will be as fuel burns off. Ive personally been anything from 10 to 20 lb bite difference over 5 gallons of fuel burn

Yes, I am both going up on bite but also increasing the LR chain length. Probably going on the scales tonight and I bet I end up around 125 to 150 .

If you are running a chain on the left front that’s limiting the travel on the lf. You will want to keep that in mind as you adjust the length of the chain.

Thats a good point. I am changing all the ride heights again this week and I am thinking I will set that LF back to 1.5" drop again at the new settings.

Down on the LR and RF bolts and up on the LF and RR bolts will increase cross and LR bite without changing ride heights.

Curious as to where the 2000 lb target number came from? Why not more? Could lengthen lr chain but stiffen front more and get 2500lbs (just an example to clarify what I’m asking). As it is now it’s topping out chain on lr so that’s taking some off both the rf and lr. Just trying to wrap my head around it some
@DIRTRACELIFE
@DIRTRACELIFE 2 ай бұрын
Ok So this is partly opinion and also some explanation where Mr Jay is helping me. When I am measuring the poundage on the RF it's not really at all about the spring or travel. Its how much grip that tire can make that pulls that spring down and the rate of the spring is dictating the amount of travel. So what I learned last Saturday is how the car would "hold" 1970lbs of grip in the slick at clayhill. Based on that I know for example if that track got some real dirt and had grip then I might want to go right back to that exact 15 1/4" measurement at 1970lbs and crank the jack to 2200 lbs or 2300lbs because the tire will hold and the car can carry more speed while going to the exact same 15 1/4" down spot. Thats where I am at in learning about how to use the data
