Good stuff here. Deployment is where I really struggle. Well deployment and getting my opponents to play with enough terrain.

It always seems like a make and break part of the game ! But terrain is really important as adds so many dimensions to the game 😊👍

I needed this video a few weeks ago, put my Battlewagon full of boyz fully on the line, ready to go and not hidden at all. I got second and my opponent fired every single horrible Drukhari gun into it he could, so it got destroyed, which is bad enough, but then it BLEW UP IN MY BACK LINE! And did D6 mortals to everything crowded around it (because i forgot to Careen!, but that'sa separate problem), worst was loosing a whole squad of lootas who were buffing a Big Mek with Shokk attack gun. I learned a lot that game!
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
Oh no yikes !! I assume you didn't 1st turn waaagh for the invuln then? Tbh I had the same without the explosion vs aeldari as I put mine aggressively. I then got out in a ruin for safety. But Careen is amazing ! Not least you clear your lines but get to dump the squad out up the board ... Such a horrible thing to happen !
@MaskOfMetal94 Жыл бұрын
@SimplyWarhammer I didn't Waaagh , and I think I forgot to Ramshackle the Battlewagon as well, as I said I learned a lot that game!
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
Do you think you'd hide rhe battlewagon next time or still go aggressive?
@MaskOfMetal94 Жыл бұрын
@@SimplyWarhammer if I remember Ramshackle, that gives basically puts it into cover (worsen AP by 1), so I think I'll keep it aggressive, they are orks after all!

I’m really impressed with this video. First one of yours I’ve seen. I loved how you explained the mindset and thought process in a way that’s transferable to any army. As a new player, having that mental scaffolding/checklist is really helpful. Cutting to footage of your games illustrated your point well and was entertaining, and there was zero fat needing to be trimmed (no wasted words, you got right to the point and weren’t repetitive). I hope your channel gets huge! Subbed

Wow thanks very much 😊 😍 my aim is to keep my videos under 5 mins and be to the point and easy to consume. Not the right length for youtube to promote but it's the sort of video I want to watch, especially avoiding repeating the same points over and over to maximise video length lol !

Melee sure isn't dead if you play on a table that size!

Haha 🤣 that was just for a silly intro lol 😆
@musicalcharge Жыл бұрын
@@SimplyWarhammer I appreciated the intro. We've all been there. Which is why I like playing armies like Necrons where I don't even need to bother hiding (yeah sure, go ahead and fire away at my Warriors or Transcendent C'tan, have fun), or Deathwatch (shooty elite with easy access to repositioning and advance fall back shoot and charge, and even the bikes are infantry!)

I didn't go into it but I also like redeploy shenanigans as you bait your opponent with placement then do the old switcharoo lol

Wish I’d watched this before last weekend. Not against you because of the player placed and your lack of guns. But I’m every other game this would have been great advice. Loved the game mate!

Thanks dude and was a great game, very funny terrain deployment and massively swingie back and forth 🙈 those Ctan !!

The deployment points you made were great. The maneuvering of melee was confusing.

A piece of advice I give everyone regularly is >>Draw your secondaries at the very beginning of your turn before even beginning to think about anything else
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I played a tournament with orks and got carried away on my 1st turn movement and forgot my secondary cards. Luckily my movement was a perfect match to what I'd done haha 😅 Although people tend to draw before turns not before deployment

@@SimplyWarhammer true, this is more pertinent to the second half of the video.

Any tips for tyranids against astra. I just cant get to them tanks before half army shot off table. Il use reserves deep strikes etc as much as possible but still so much shooting. This is no matter how i flex my tyranid army
@SimplyWarhammerАй бұрын
Yer it's a hard match up with the high toughness / shoot into combat vehicles 😬 One option is to play vanguard, deploy high and screen, just keep the tanks from rolling forwards with cheap units. Gargoyles, Swarms of 20 model units, rippers, spore mines. Go to win on primary. Couple of tfex's, aggressive swarmlord to increase cp cost, zoanthropes for lascannons and venomthropes for stealth aura. Problem is you tech into that archetype and it may struggle against other factions. A norn is generally good but a big target! Tyranids need some help from a dataslate soon !

Mess up deployment with knights and its a tough first round to weather especially with oath of moment rerolling everything on 1 model
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
Knights have it hard, super swingy games when you play with only a few models. One of the big factors is who can get a first charge in. The Lancer seems the pick atm with advance & charge and very killy ! You'd think they want to sell the new model lol 😆

Another one to add to movement that a LOT of people forget is that in 10th, swarms can no longer go through walls.

The rule of Intent. If you can't derive what the rule of Intent is, just from me mentioning it, you shouldn't even be playing 40k. (Edit: This comment is not made towards your content or your video in anyway. A general comment for people reading this)

@@SimplyWarhammer Personally, I find you to be one of the highest under-rated YT 40k content creators. Your videos are near perfect in their format. You edit well. You don't put click bait titles and you get your point across each and every time, without some god damn long winded story.
