Dang, Stacks!! Lot hard judging going on here in comments!! My opinion... i been doing lot belts.. but i never buy blanks.. purchase, Water Buffalo Bends..[ found great source for wide/long dyed bends], but mostly, i used 13/15oz skirt or firm harness or bridle sides.. luv this heavy leather. All my belts end up literally being heirloom items.. makes lot outdoor / bushcraft gear.. im disabled, so leathercrafting is just big hobbie that's getting out a hand!! Lol. 2 of these heavy duty belts, pay for entire side.. but everything going, up and up.. crazy world we live in... thanks Stacks!! Enjoy humorous tutorials

@Terry-n1i Thank you for sharing my friend. That sounds like some great leather to work with. Where did you get it from? As for the hard comments, it's all good. I can see how it came off kind of sleazy. What I ended up cutting from the final video is where I already had 4 belts to make for people and I wasn't going to turn down the belts my family members and close friend asked me to make after I had already committed to the other orders. I appreciate you, my friend, and I'm glad I can entertain you with these videos.

@bigstacksshop also, I meant nothing derogatory or bad in my being entertained.. I watch vids to learn new tips and tricks, etc.. just a plus when you also get a chuckle and a smile!!

Wouldn't it make more sense to use snaps or the screw together rivets for belt buckles. In case the buyer might want to change buckles

@markostroff8845 Thank you for sharing This is a great idea and I can totally see where you are coming from. One of the 12 was made with Chicago screws at special request. I just did not have time to go into everything I really wanted to in the video. Not a lot of people in my local area wear western buckles. I usually sell two different options, the "Buffalo Belt" (riveted buckle) and the "Western Belt" (snaps and no buckle included). I sell them 10 Buffalo to maybe 1 Western, so it's not in high demand here.

there is NO WAY that the material costs are 31 bucks for one of those belts. seriously. I know what the hardware costs and the leather costs, Ive been doing leather since the late 90's. a far more accurate material cost for one of those belts is around 17-23 dollars. I dont know where you are sourcing your stuff from, but if you truly paid that much for materials, they are ripping you off in a big way.

@orion7741 That is an exact calculation, my friend. It includes the belt blank, belt loop, buckle, rivets, and shop supplies. I also added shipping because it is considered part of the supply cost. My belt price is $77 based on my labor rate, materials cost, and overhead.

its just straight up dishonest to put out a post that says you only have 4 spots left for belts, and then go on to take orders from 12 people and make 12 belts.... dude, seriously. that is extremely bad business and you are dupeing people with a dishonest tactic. when people learn that, its going to leave a bad taste in their mouth over you and it will drive customers away from you instead of drawing them in. its just shameful behaviour and something that we expect from massive retail outlets, not hand made stuff from real people. not cool, not cool at all on your part. just be honest and straight up with people, dont try and reel people in with dishonest tactics and crap like you did....

@orion7741 There is no dishonesty sir. I had four people who wanted belts from me before I made the post. I had intended to make eight total, which would have been four more. But then I had eight more requests from my personal Facebook page. You don't turn away business at that point, especially from family and friends.

well, it is done so much that it's a common practice on line now.
