Hi Mark, Love the video, super helpful. Would love to see a video on how you would create more of a moody atmospehere when shooting towards the sky. EG a leopard in a tree, where you only have the sky behind it...

I just discovered your channel and really love your editing style. I've been wanting to learn how to create darker, moodier images as my editing style leans to the brighter, well lit style. I subscribed to the channel and can't wait to watch more of your content and check out your presets.

Honestly, I think your tutorials are some of the best I've seen for wildlife in LRC. That second image of the leopard is gorgeous. A lot of the time when people make moody images of wildlife the sky and background is always too dark and unnatural and they lighten the whole eye which looks awful. You do it right. Can definitely use this work flow to create my own style. Thank you!

Appreciate the comment! Yeah that’s my image on the cover, it’s a great honour to have my image represent the Leopard in that way.

What lens were you using for the last leopard image ?....it's showing 550mm at f5.6

Thanks for the comment, I was using a 200-400 f4 lens with a 1.4x converter.

The photo was taken about 6 years ago, I have a different lens now. I use the Nikon 200-500 currently, great lens for wildlife.

@@MarkDumbleton Ohh, i though you upgraded to the 200-400 f4 from 200-500mm f5.6. But why ? The 200-400mm f4 is better than 200-500mm f5.6. Is it because of weight while using from a vehicle ? I owned the 200-500mm f5.6, it was a fine lens.
@MarkDumbleton

It was the version 1 of the 200-400 Nikon lens I had. It was too heavy and wanted the 500mm without needing the 1.4x - don’t regret the change at all :)

@@MarkDumbleton Yes definitely a learning process on trying to find a good settings. Because at times ill go home and check out some of my images and some of them the ISO is so high with auto ISO. Been using Auto because if I see a bird and want to get it in mid flight I have the shutter speed high enough. Maybe I should switch to manual again.
@MarkDumbleton
@MarkDumbleton Жыл бұрын
Auto ISO in manual is exactly how I shoot. I have a video coming out soon about this very topic. Remember you can limit the High ISO Value your camera can choose. I limit mine to 16000.

@MarkDumbleton awesome can't wait to see the video. I went out today just before the sun went down and of course my images turned out not sharp at 600mm and noise. Shot in aperture mode this time to try out since during the day it worked out pretty well. But guess when there isn't much light it's not as good. Also on my LCD of the camera looks like it's in focus but once it's on the computer it's not and just looks terrible.
