I would think they would not like being hit with those balls. I was thinking…. Probably not real practical… but a sort of “car wash” type structure that would be portable that the cows would walk through and get misted with fly spray. Getting them to go through it might be an issue…

Cherokee has been digging holes lately! I hate it! I have a gravel backyard… and it is not looking good with big dirt patches! He likes to roll in the dirt! A few places in the yard the dirt is like talcum powder!

I live in town but one time several years back I was working in my yard & noticed a good many flies-which was very unusual. I came on KZbin to look up homemade fly traps & made like 3 or 4 using two liter soda bottles with rotten fruit etc & hung them outside. A bit later I was working outside again & my neighbors were grilling. They decided to eat outside too-but they were finding it difficult because of just SO many flies around. I even heard them comment about all the flies! It seems my fly traps were working a bit too well & attracting flies from all over! I quietly eased around removing my fly traps, sealed them up in plastic bags & put them in the trash. The fly problem went away on its own. I felt bad that I had caused the neighbors to have fly issues during their grill-out but nope I never told them. 😂 After my experience I started thinking that most likely those “ranch fly traps” you see advertised probably does more to make the issue worse than it does to help-unless you put in far far away on a neighbors property. 🤣
