The headlands always get so compacted we don’t leave them till last. We do the headlands first. Then the field. And after that do the headlands again to really make sure there’s no compaction and it really seems to help the overall yields break everything up thoroughly. because in the past we can really tell the headlands we too compacted and the yield was always crappy there

Your truck overheating. Check to see if the heater is blowing warm enough air when truck is warmed up. If it doesn't seem good enough, probably the sign of bad thermostat. That or bad circulation of coolant in system somewhere maybe a bad or worn out water pump
@leddieliveАй бұрын
I actually had a water pump failure where the shaft connecting the drive pulley to the water turbine sheared. Very difficult to diagnose even when removed from the engine. You could turn the pulley & the turbine on the water side would turn too. It was only when you held either end & then tried to rotate it that the broken shaft revealed itself. After fitting a new pump everything went back to working normally. Of course before this happened a main dealer fitted a new plastic header tank & checked the sensors & wiring for what I thought was too expensive & didn't cure the overheating problem. I'd definitely check those drive clutches & remove the water pump for a better examination as it sounds like you've already checked out the usual issues. It is very satisfying when you find & fix an issue even the 'professionals' failed to mend. 😀

Love seeing the hunting aspect of your videos people don’t realize hunting is also part of farming. If you don’t manage the wildlife they got out of control and will/can reek havoc on crops
@leddieliveАй бұрын
Not only crop damage they often put holes grain bags & can carry diseases. Over population leads to fighting & injuries ending up with starvation. Wild animals can interfere with people's pets & cause traffic accidents & vehicle damage. The list goes on & on, a farmer who doesn't take care of the wildlife on his land doesn't deserve to farm the land in my opinion. 😉

That was a huge rock that Jim dug up with the tillage machine. Wow. Too heavy for a person to lift. Good to see Jim doing so well. He does real good with the tillage machine. Hang in there Jim. You take care of yourself. The dryer has not run as much with dry corn out of the field. That saves on the budget. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Check the end and bottom of your big shanks on your ripper. When you put the tips on there they should be solid. The bottoms get wore during tillage. Slide the tips on if you can slide it on and you have half a bolt hole of play then you need to have them built up. That’s how they break bolts and fall of.

If you intend to pull trees in ditch out. Call 411 first. I had a few trees. I was going to pull over. I had tile company to do small Jon. They suggested I have 411 check when they checked tile job 1000 feet away. Yes fiber optic under tree. If tree damages not my fault. So tree gets cut. Then cut as low as practical, then gravel over it.
