Its hard to define how important this was to so many. It's obvious why the interest in it has remained and grown stronger, sighted in the newer young bands( who are following the creativity of the 90s era to the stripped down hc template of 00's). The darkest, heaviest and deepest music to come from the once superior 518 scene, but also anywhere. Greater than it's influences. Our youth.

idk if they're in my top 10 but i like section 8 plenty. my top 10 are probably earth crisis, integrity, 25 ta life, despair, all out war, agnostic front, candiria, indecision, stigmata, and merauder as far as hardcore goes. but i like sheer terror a lot so obviously i like section 8 as well cause they kinda sound like 'em and stigmata which i mentioned as a favorite. i also really like old life of agony which kinda has a similar feel in a way. more commercial but some semblance is clearly there

Leagues ahead of any bands in this scene, so much dynamics and excellent song writing. - pure anger. Would of killed to see them tour with Acid Bath but Audie died and Acid Bath broke up. They were supposed to do a co-headlining tour, Sammy from Acid Bath told me at a Goatwhore show that he was blown away by these guys when they opened for them at the QE2 back in the day; the crowd was more excited for these guys than them. Love these dudes.

*LYRICS* BROKEN GLASS MEMORIES LYRICS \/\/\/\/\/ This is where all hatred dwells Anxiety dances with rage There's no bottom to this hell Breathe in the black The suffocation. Something inside of me Broken glass memories No sleep tonight No bottom to this bottle The end is here And I won't fight. Blood is shed for emptiness Goodbye to love I'll have to rid you of the flesh Save you from the things I'm thinking of Your life is a disease Your death is the cure When your innocence died I couldn't endure Lacerated wings Screams fill the sky You're in my hell And god can't hear you cry Your god can't hear you cry Cry. Deny your faith now I told you not to run When I'm burning angels Break you down. Your god can't hear you There's no where you can run So I light my candle To see you bleed I told you not to run Now I burn my angel See her bleed. Burning myself for you And I will kill you Pure violation self mutilation I must cleanse you Burning myself from you And now you bleed for me Bleed. Yes my angel She bleeds for me I light my candle And lose myself on Sundays When eyes can see there's no light. *GOD COMPLEX* \/\/\/\/ Maybe today I'll see the sun Because it shines just like your eyes. When the devil comes calling At the frost of dawn Life becomes a lie. Reality is waking me From this dying sleep The dam of sorrows is breaking And in darkness I I cannot weep In the darkness I I cannot weep The starlight shines just like your eyes And in darkness I I cannot weep. Maybe today I'll see the sun Because it shines like your eyes When the devil comes calling Life becomes a lie When the devil comes crawling At the frost of dawn Life becomes a lie Lie. Lie. Your eyes they shined like starlight Screams lost in the wind Heaven sent you down as a savior Now your pain begins. You lied like god You died like god I'll love you forever I'll drown in your blood Can you see me Destroying all that was Can you hear me Drowning drowning in your blood Can you see him Buried Buried Buried Buried Can you see me Destroying all that was I can bring you down. Yeah maybe tomorrow I'll see the end Because it loves me just like your heart I will surely damn your soul I will rip your world Apart Reality is waking me and in darkness I And in darkness I Pain and damnation are sacraments From hells heart I stab at thee I stab at thee Maybe tomorrow I'll see the sun When life becomes a lie Pain and damnation are sacraments From hell's heart I stab at thee. From hell's heart I stab at thee. From hell's heart I stab at thee. I am messiah You are my sheep. SKY IS FALLING LYRICS \/\/\/\/\/ I can hear them calling Forever calling This demon calls me No. I’m drowning in your eyes Drowning in your lies All of this was your design I can feel it building The pressure building The screaming in my head. I know this time is coming And there’s no stopping The sky is falling The sky is falling. All the things that I see Troubled waters drowning me Who left the scars on your body? I hold my head up just to breathe And now the sky is falling sown on me. I’m trying very hard now Not to let my love fade away But now this time is coming The demons calling The screaming in my head In my head. She’s lying peaceful She looks so placid I’m going to drown Going to drown. Now the sky is falling The demons calling I try to stop myself from hurting you But this is all I know. No. Right through the suffering madness I tried to leave behind You’ll never. You’ll never Stop the pain. I look at myself I can’t believe in you Believe me Will you love the scars I leave Will you love the scars I leave Will you love the scars I leave Will you love the fucking scars I leave Now life has gone. Life is gone Life is gone. TORN LYRICS \/\/\/ Twisted and torn I rip at my face Why was I born? Scarred and broken My words unspoken The truth was never shown to me. Nazarene Burning faith This human race Who stands above me? Piercing his side Have you no pride Gonna take you with me. Show me peace, I will decide Promise me your love, or your life A light that never reached my eyes You will bleed for these lies (demise) Shallow words. Hollow is your name. I offered my soul In return this pain Tell me were you born again And where is your god Has he forsaken me Drive the nails deeper this time Show me peace I will decide Promise your love, or your life A light that never reached my eyes You will bleed for these lies. (demise) When earth is crushed and god is dead How much truth can you take. Wrists tied. Crucified. Drive the nails deeper this time. Prayers done. Carrion. Father in heaven I was never your son Rosaries fall to rot A mother holds her dying son And I look to the sky and find out I am the only one. Twisted and torn I rip at my face With a crown of thorns Scarred and broken My words unspoken The truth was never shown to me Nazarene Burning faith The human race Who stands above me? Piercing his side Have you no pride Gonna take you with me. DIVINITY OF LONELINESS \/ Days pass like memories Nights are as long as years How dare you leave me alone here Shedding blood in place of tears. I have become all of my nightmares I will become your fears How dare you leave me alone here How dare you leave me alone. When darkness settles in my head Shudder in dismay Desecrated soul that screams and writhes At the horrors of a dying day. The flesh the perfect medium for steel Eyes gleam and turn to stone I carve all impurities from you I face this pain alone. Darkness settles in my head Eyes gleam and turn to stone Better to be dead than to dread The horrors that rise with the sun Rise with the sun. I saw you once in a dream Where devils pound nails and angels scream Can't look in your eyes anymore Now I curse the sky that I adored. You couldn't take this pain anymore You've waited a long time to be with god You couldn't take this life anymore You just closed your eyes and left with god You couldn't take this pain anymore Forever is a long time to play with god I can't take this pain anymore I'll just close my eyes and be with god Just close my eyes and be with god Can you take this pain anymore You just closed your eyes and left with god Can you take this life anymore Just closed your eyes and left with god. NO. The ecstasy of emptiness The purity of suffering Divinity of loneliness Embrace The Nothing. Embrace The Nothing. Embrace The Nothing. WINTER \/ I stand here looking at the faces with forgotten names Oh can't you see that I am fading. I tried to love you but you only have yourselves to blame I am so tired of this masquerade. They're all around me paranoia starts this strain again Am I insane? Why am I laughing. Feel like exploding, holding back with all my discipline Don't ask me why, I'll tell you nothing. I'm walking in my frozen mind Growing colder by the step I'm talking to myself again Have I finally reached the edge. I wipe away these icy tears You know I've done my part Subzero winds they numb my fears In this winter of my heart. Please help me god I'm freezing I know it numbs my pain From the bottom of hell she's crawling Can you feel her? I know the fear of bleeding I know that pleasure is pain From the bottom of hell she's crawling Can you feel her? Lay down with a whore called darkness I know she calls your name She calls my name. Lay down with a whore called darkness She calls your name. I lock my doors up and prepare myself for lonely days I don't want to love or see the dawn A storm is coming And it's going to blow you all away Why am I laughing Now that all is gone? I bid you all A cold goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. SHAME OF CAIN \/ I've seen the end of what we've prayed for And it was brought by a lack of faith And now who's hiding in the darkness So full of bitterness and hate Hate. Hate. My god bring the cleansing rain Please wash away all the blood stains Laughing in the devil's name I will rip my wounds To wake my rage Rage. Ascend my demons of pride Can you let me know Does this make sense? Descend my angels of mercy So I can tear your, tear your Innocence. My god bring the cleansing rain Please wash away all the blood stains Laughing in the devil's name I will rip my wounds To wake my rage I am everything but you I am nothing but god I am everything but you I am nothing God. So lost without you And I feel this emptiness And I pray someone will Fill your wedding dress What have I done. What have I done. What have I done? I am bred from suffering And I am one with pain Your screaming sounds like angels Unbroken I remain. I am bred from suffering And I am one with pain Your screaming sounds like Abel's My name is Cain My name is Cain. No light shall shine upon this day No smile shall crack upon this face I wait in the gallows in the freezing rain Forever burden this shame of Cain. The ninth and final song of this album is in the replies.

DE OMEGA \/ I see you waiting for a smile to Let you know you're in Are you waiting for another angel To cleanse you from your sin Try and deny your selfless crimes Now the dark is killing you And it's taking its time Now the dark is killing you And it's taking its time Close your eyes No don't fight This time I won't save you. Call to your holy father Hold hands with the man who walks on water Call to your bloodstained idols. Scream their divine names Can you see the dark clouds coming? I'll watch you all go down in flames. You'll burn. Yeah you'll burn. Can you see the dark clouds coming? Do you know the end by name? You'll burn in a lake of fire for what you've done Did you see the world start burning? Did you know the end by name? You'll burn in a lake of fire The end is birthing my son. You'll burn. Yeah you'll burn. Can you see the end of everything We can watch it burn Wipe my tears away when fire dies We'll burn. Yeah we'll burn. I see you waiting for a smile to Let you know you're in Are you waiting for another angel To cleanse you from your sin Try and deny your selfless crimes Now the dark is killing you And it's taking its time Now the dark is killing you And it's taking its time. Long time fan here since 99!!! Here in Salt Lake City in the 90s we had a local band called “climb” that has a definite section 8 influence. Check ‘em out they have some stuff here on KZbin.

Saw Section 8 at Skidmore College I think, way back sometime between 94 and 98. One of the guitarists (not sure if it was Section 8's) stepped into the bathroom and continued playing.

jay 518 Ha ha Kasey once told me he could turn the street lights on and off with his mind.. They had a reunion couple years back and sounded pretty good.

Kasey destroyed any chance they had at truly making it, drank himself into Oblivion. Sad. They were fucking amazing

They did "make it"...in the truest and longest lasting way possible. This music could never translate commercially. After all of these amazing bands ran their cycle...the decade of "butt rock" followed commercially and youthanized commercial heavy music.

@@stephaniebrior3881 I have done that with street lights also. He is not alone there.

i remember my boy Mookie crying to this shit after his brother died. I used to think he was gonna kill himself when i heard this on the stereo. Troy was some good times with some badass people.

Troy's getting better, brother. We're finding our way again, and picking up some pride.

I’m in my late 30s and from Albany county. I actually knew Casey in highschool. For local underground metal it does not get any better than this.

He would have been quite a bit older than you, no? You would have been like 12 or 13 when they tracked their first album.
@pthibault6303 жыл бұрын
Also... it's Kasey, not Casey.... and technically it's actually Jann.
@derekguitarmax91403 жыл бұрын
@@pthibault630 oh we’re doing that thing where you suspect I’m lying and have to prove you’re better than me by poking holes in my story? Ok well I don’t know how old KASEY is, but we are roughly the same age and from the same area. I suppose it’s illogical that we had many mutual friends back then, or that he dated my ex girlfriends sister. Also, I’m deeply sorry for misspelling the name of someone I haven’t seen in over twenty years. Didn’t mean to offend you. 👍
@pthibault6303 жыл бұрын
@@derekguitarmax9140 Well you made that post about a year ago and you said you were in your late 30s. Let's say you were 39. And let's assume that means you were born in 81. If you were the same age, that would mean Jann (not actually Kasey) was 13 when Section 8 released their first album. Not unheard of, but I don't think it's likely. Maybe he was a senior when you were a freshman. I mean what you're saying isn't impossible. I just think it's unlikely.
