She switched 4 families and changed up to 3 orphanages, let's say if a family return her, they most likely return her to the old orphanage, not a new one, it's a possibility that she was actually involved in one of those selling kids family or orphanage, her third orphanage is very bad, but there might be worse orphanages out there in the show universe, Loid wondered "where did she learn that stuff?", it's one way to address the world they are living in is fucked up, but it's not a confirmation of Anya 's past as well as it being pass as a joke, I think it was a very intentional joke. Also, Anya's able to send out the twilight code that taunted the enemies is probably a combination of innocence and her tv show most likely, she was watching spy war, and movies sometimes do corny stuff like that especially cartoons in the 60-80s. And they cannot send texts to each other because just look at their cars, I am pretty sure they are decades away from the oldest mobile phone. Also, the whole marriage and spy things are references to outdated social norms and the report program in the cold war and war era. Basically anyone can report other for being suspicious. It sounds dumb and stupid but it actually existed. The only nick picking thing is that both of them never pick up any clue, especially Loid considering he is very smart but then again, this is a gag comedy show, we just roll along, no need to overused logic on certain parts.

Tatsuya Endo, the author of Spy x family, apparently had a dream of making a famous manga when he was a kid. From what I heard his first submission to shonen Jump was when he was in highschool. Over the years he was unheard of but worked on some very very interesting series. He also had chances to work with Tatsuki Fujimoto, the author of Chainsaw Man and with the author of Hell's Paradise. When he submitted Spy x Family it blew up spectacularly even he was impressed. I'm so happy to see his work get animated. His dream actually came true. Here's to future success to Tatsuya Endo Sensei.

Just to point out, Loid/Twilight is a spy from a different country. One that Yor's country is in a Cold War with. Yor just was sent to kill someone for being a traitor. So they really can't work together, at least at this point. Also, don't forget that Yor is gullible, according to her brother. Also, when her coworker suggested putting boogers in the chief's coffee, Yor asked if that would make it taste better, somehow. Yor is a very innocent and trusting soul, in spite of being an assassin.

The somewhat real undertones under this fluff of Comedy is what makes the show so investing. My favorite thing about this episode is, when were first introduced to Yor, her coworkers are talking about a woman who was reported for being suspicious and arrested, the coworker implies that the reason is because shes in her late 20s and single. But when Twilight and Franky are discussing how he's going to find a wife, Franky asks why he doesn't just get a female agent and Twilight says with all the spy hunts going on lately there aren't many available. Then when Yor shows up the the party with no boyfriend her coworker mentions reporting her, thinking she's a spy trying to ruin the economy or something like, so the rumor of spy's being arrested is confirmed by Twilight as real and not just made up gossip.

SPY×FAMILY takes place in "Berlint," a fictional Soviet-era East Berlin. Loid is from "Westalis" (West Germany) while Yor is from "Ostania" (East Germany). I recommend reading up on the Stasi, the very oppressive State Security Service of East Germany, which was headquartered in East Berlin during that time. The Stasi and their informants were everywhere, spying and informing on everyone, including on their own co-workers, relatives and friends, for merely having the "wrong" interests or views. Hundreds of thousands were arrested as political prisoners. So Loid's comment about it being too risky to use someone from work to act as his wife and Yor's fears that her marital status could drawn suspicion and accusations of spying or subversion are not unrealistic even outside the anime.

Also, with the "ribbit" (I'm sure manga readers already know this), I noticed that when someone delivers him info for his next mission they make an animal sound like that to tell him which cypher to use to decode it. Yeah, the animal sounds indicate which cypher. Meow=Cat=Cypher C Ribbit=Frog=Cypher F I think it's pretty clever, honestly. X3 Also, I'm assuming that they watch the episodes on Hulu, but then they use the videos from Crunchyroll for the visual part of their reaction videos. Some of the words they've mentioned in their reactions to certain things are words that are in the Hulu subs but not the subs that they show. I should know. I've watched the Hulu version of these episodes multiple times now. XD X3

Yor's job - along with her employer's goal - is to basically do the exact same things, just in her own country instead of in the West

Loid and Yor actually do believe each other (Sort of). Yor is incredibly gullible and feels there is no reason to doubt Loid. Loid sort of just dismisses all of the sus things Yor does as Yor being Yor, with logic and reasoning are thrown out the window, only getting suspicious later. But Loid pretty quickly dismisses his suspicions of her after investigating.
