Every believer in Christ will ultimately triumph because of God's sovereign grace. We possess eternal security, a source of great comfort. Yet we must be careful of the abuse of the doctrine of assurance: 'continuing in sin that grace may abound'. The pillars of our Christian faith should never lead to a careless, unholy life, but rather a striving after godliness, with the power of the Holy Spirit, which will then be accompanied by growing peace and assurance.
