Securing tomorrow’s resources - this is the motto of research at the Julius Kühn Institute.
The JKI is the Federal Research Center for Cultivated Plants and one of four departmental research institutes of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
From cereals, to fruit growing and viticulture down to medicinal plants and forestry: our 18 specialized institutes conduct crop research at nine locations all over Germany. Our focus: breeding research and breeding, plant diseases and pests, biodiversity and sustainable cultivation.
