@Cyber Stein In Texas it's legal to use deadly force to prevent a home invasion if you can prove they were trying to get in while you were home. Shoe prints on the door would probably be enough. I wouldn't want to live in a state where it isn't.

If it's real then it's one of such rules to aim your middle finger at. Here in Belgium there is a law that you have to declare any security cameras that you put up around your house, so that the police can use the images if anything happens in the neighborhood. Like, that is not my intention for putting up camera's 🙄 They can get lost with their law and i put them up anyway lol. It's none of their business what i have going on on my lot.

You can secure windows easily. Get window film or buy windows with the vinyl sheets in between the glass. It doesn't cost much to really improve security.

The whole point is to completely stop them from coming in the easy way. If they want to try to break a window out then try to crawl through that small glass filled opening then they're more then welcome.

It's quite easy to put a bar in the window frame so a human won't fit through. But yeah one got to consider what's worth the security. Making your house look like a jail versus the small chance that someone does come through your window. For that amount of noise they can also run a car through the wall.

Door guards and such DIY is good, but the windows are still there, the other easy forced entry point. I guess next comes iron bars. But this is a good start.
