I can't help thinking that things might have turned out very differently had his victim carried a snub-nosed revolver in a jacket pocket. For the price of that firearm, a few sessions with a trained NRA instructor, a box of .38 Spec., and with just a little luck when he approached her, she could be with her family now and he could be either in prison or in a cemetery.

They’re definitely traumatized. There’s no way you couldn’t be. My aunt was stabbed 35 times by her ex.. and when my mother found out by the call they made to her ( they had to lie to her first to get her to you know kind of tense up and not just spill it cold ..” but she fell down and was weeping. This was 10 years ago... my mother still hurts and it’s definitely traumatized her . Her grief is immense.

I take the bus to work. Nearly everyone is glued to their phones. If even one of those early people had just been paying attention and looking around, they would have noted the defendant sneaking around and may have called it in. Please wake up and be aware of your surroundings.
