I'm building a Skoolie with my wife. I've been searching near and far for a complete camera system. Like, for over a year now. Lo and behold, the algorithm KZbin gods made this video pop up for no reason at all; but here I am. Sir, your review, explanation and even installation of your products (cameras especially) has been a super save for me. Thank you for this. I've definitely subscribed as well.

Just because you’re watching your cameras on a tablet, like I do doesn’t mean they’re connected to the cloud, all my cameras I have around the house I connected to my local area network what allows me to then connect it to the cloud, but I also can use my tablet to connect to the local cameras without accessing the cloud so if my Internet goes down at home, I still have access to my cameras through the local area network

Subbed. This channel should be much bigger than it is. Your conversion series is the best I've seen (and feel like I have I watched every conversion video on youtube at this point). Very informative, and clever techniques throughout. I'm enjoying your stealth adventures too. Look forward to seeing where you go... with the build and with the channel

You should make a drone garage on the top that you can launch a drone and check out what is going on around you.

Even though I'm subscribed with notifs on, KZbin wasn't showing me your stuff. The good news is now I get to binge all the new vids! Love those low profile security cameras, great content.

you run Windows on raspberry pi. but these are windows you can see out of. phenomenal stuff. this is one of the best videos I've seen on car DVR installation. a lot of them just tell you what they bought and leave it to mystery. this video goes through in detail, even with a raspberry pi build out. phenomenal.

Super bright motion sensor lights over both doors that become powered up when you lock the doors. Tap into the bulb wiring for a chime or buzzer in the back.

How is the AC duct system holding up? Have you experienced high amounts of condensation build up or freezing components in the AC unit?
@TheTechnoBarbarian2 жыл бұрын
It generates over a pint of condensation per hour. It worked just fine all through the summer - no issues so far. The duct does radiate a bit of heat, it could use a little more insulation.

7:26 or they are connected to the raspberry pi wireless... without cloud/internet access. something like VNC (realvnc, tightvnc, or whatever)
@TheTechnoBarbarian2 жыл бұрын
Maybe, I haven't actually seen anything like that that's functional. The raspberry pi itself doesn't ever get the video feed. I will eventually have it networked for live viewing anywhere with cell/starlink signal.
@JohnDoe_12372 жыл бұрын
@@TheTechnoBarbarian "The raspberry pi itself doesn't ever get the video feed." and how you are able to watch the stream? raspberry runs on linux, it _should_ be able to get working. tightvncserver should run on the pi and then you should be able to install a VNC client on your tablet to connect to it 🤔you may get only 10-15 fps, but it should be working wireless
@TheTechnoBarbarian2 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe_1237 The touchscreen for the raspberry pi has an aux hdmi input. If you feed from the PI, you also have to figure out how to get the video TO the PI.

I bought a $160 surround camera system chinese knock off that stitches all 4 camera images together for one top down view of my 7.2 meter long truck and instead of wiring it to the indicators etc I wired it to a rotary switch that I attached to the gear stick allowing me to select each camera while Im driving down the road as my main view with a single finger. Insane value and versatility for security and seeing all the blind spots for driving and parking. Does anyone have recommendations to tap into the video signal for remote viewing from my phone via my 4g modem?
@Mark-gg6iy2 жыл бұрын
Well done. Security should also include enhanced horns, flashing lights, and possibly a PA system with recorded messages all accessible from the back, cab, and possibly triggered remotely. All entry points require hardening. The security system needs to be as relevant and prioritized as water & electricity. I never cease to be amazed at those that put so much work and expense into their rigs while failing to secure them as well as possible within their means and budget. Relying on firearms is missing the point. I would also add a preprinted warning for potential vandals & thieves warning them that they are currently being recorded, the recording is saved, automatically uploaded, and monitored in real time. No need to be honest, they are not. The goal is to drive them away without causing you damage and/or minimizing the damage they intend to cause. Most criminals are opportunistic. Do you have wheel locks? Be the strongest link. Horns & flashing lights are always the bane of all criminals unless they are schizophrenics.

Definitely a lot of other aspects to security...this was strictly about cameras. I think a hidden killswitch and a permanent GPS tracker would be my next moves.

Interrupt power feed to TCM(transmission module) and it should not start. Verify by removing fuse. If it sets a code,move on to park interlock switch.
