If Putin is a "professional" he has done a very good job of turning Ukraine towards NATO and the EU; creating a revolution in 2014 by interfering in Ukraine's decision to develop closer ties with the EU; unifying Ukrainians in their belief in Ukraine as a sovereign country wishing to be independent; galvanising European countries into increasing defence spending, which had been run down because most of Europe had thought the Cold War was over; galvanising NATO into increasing its forces in Europe, expanding NATO with the applications of Sweden and Finland to join NATO, persuading the EU to end the purchases of Russian fossil fuels; through invading Ukraine losing the lives of more soldiers than in every conflict since WW2 combined; and many more wide accomplishments like finding only about 4 other countries in the world which supported the invasion of Ukraine or the illegal annexation of parts of Ukraine.. I would say that was a very impressive set of achievements, and professionally done, if that was his intention.
