I work security at a commercial building at the front desk. Every employee must scan ID badges and any visitors must be issued a visitor badge and must be signed by an employee. Love the job been there for over 3 months now. Used to be a mall guard before.

You have one of the easiest mobile patrol jobs in the world. I've worked in 2 different companies here in Ireland and its full on for 12hours, lock ups, alarms, openings and more alarms. Wish I had a job like yours and looks a lovely area too

Wish I could land this type of job, my area doesn’t have HOA. It’s essentially being a cop without the extreme risks and stress of the job and probably the most supported position in the security officer industry

@@dasandman14 honestly im not too sure, Im waiting on some paperwork to clear first before shadow training. Its a petcoke refinery with two foreign vessel ports at marsec level 1 so my understanding is report any jobsite hazards, that those on the property have valid TWIC access, and that crew getting off the foreign vessel have valid shorepasses and escorting them down a 1.5 mile dock. It sounds pretty interesting. Thanks again for the video, its comforting seeing what the job entails.

Just a quick question, do you have your Patrol and or caution lights on at all times as you’re driving through the neighborhoods to let people know that you are there and they are aware of security for safety as well?

Negative. We are not mall security. Lights are only for emergency and warning purposes, such as traffic control.

At 1:35 you say that you look for speeding violations. Security can’t pull people over for speeding, even on private property. What state is this in? What specific code/ordinance/law whatever you want to call it, gives you that authority?

Thank you for your comment. I do not share my specific information for privacy reasons, but HOA security departments can stop vehicles on their private roadways and issue HOA citations. The roads are not public roadways and the citations are not state tickets. If you Google it, you will find that traffic enforcement is very common in private communities.

I would recommend “security patrol” or something similar. Most security jobs are unfortunately in guard shacks or single buildings, but I prefer patrol.

I would recommend staying alert and avoiding distractions like your cell phone. Security work can seem very boring, but if you remain observant, you will catch issues and impress your supervisors.
