I did have some problem with the motion detection when I tested this camera. Hopefully they will release a new update to fix these problems.
This is a 2MP security camera with a 170 degree viewing angle. You can use it both indoors and outdoors since it has a IP65 Rating.

To all of you thet you are not able to view the recorded footage ( even if you put record always ) when you select motion detection mode with the latest firmware. You have to downgrade to 4.0.5_0105 very common problem for many months and i have not seen anyone in reviews talking about this but it's huge problem actually. Hope i saved you some time with info ( to downgrade need to put the firmare an a fat32 sd card and by pressing the reset button connect the power , release the reset button when while litle apears and wait until blue light comes on. You are ready to pair the device to the app now and select always record, now you will see thr recorded clips for sure )

I think it should be good, the camera has a IP65 rating so it should be weather proof.

I tried this cam for a couple of weeks, way too unreliable. Froze up daily, couldn't playback, up to 5 minute lag time, not onvif compatible. The magnetic mount was okay but the app ruined it.

I have two such cameras, it's a great price for the value you get. There is a very annoying problem, at 19:00 the camera stops recording and for you to go back to recording you have to restart the camera after midnight only it is impossible before. I checked all the settings and did not see anything set to stop recording or sleep. This is in my opinion a bug in the version, hope it resolves in the next update. But I must point out the positive thing that the camera has is a very wide shot!

I have 2 cameras too and the same problem. Stops recording allways at same hour and back recording after a restart and only some hours after don't know how many, but maybe after midnight like you said. Hope they resolve that too in next upgrade.

I also reported the problem a lot of times through the app. But I have a feeling that maybe they are doing it on purpose to buy a memory in the cloud and probably there it is recording non-stop. I think more people who have purchased this camera should report the problem in the app, maybe it will make them fix it anyway.

@@molnardaniel5800 An update of version 4.0.9_0142 was released today that solved the whole recording problem. Now this is the camera most worth buying. That was the only downside and now everything works great for a video recorder 24 hours in a row. What intrigues me, came out a new version of this camera that captures 2K quality, really interesting to know if it is also water resistant because there is no memory card cover.

It’s an instable product. Not recomended to use neighter security neighter other appications. If the motion detected mode is active you cannot play its own recording but you can post it on facebbok :)

In this video you said that notifications can be sent to the phone in case it senses the observation movement, I wanted to know if this feature has been tested and the notifications really arrive? I ask you this because I bought the same IP camera but the serious of this device is not supported in Italy and therefore I am forced to set China as a country, and since this involves the same function only on Chinese servers. Despite having configured it as a security camera, despite there being movement, the notifications on the mobile do not arrive at all, but the reason and why it runs on Chinese servers?

Yes as I said in the video there is something broken with the motion detection. Sometimes I did get the push notifications but there was a delay.

If i connect this camera in my home and setup it to my network and next put this camera in my village that i don't have an internet connection does this camera continues to record in sd card or it must be connected to wifi to recording?

I think it does record without WiFi but I haven't tried it so can't say for sure. Maybe someone else knows?

yes, all cameras from Mi overwrite old files when SD card is full - but you can set this on your own preference (e.g. stop recording so it won't overwrite old videos)

Hi, gretat video. I just received this camera, image quality ii ok, it records when detects person or movement but it doesn't send notification to my mobile... I tried all but it does not send notification. Without notifications, the camera is not useful at all. Resetting would solve it? What should I do? Thank you...

Not much to do unfortunately until they fix it with an update. If they ever will that is.

I can do what you describe according to the movement of a certain character and according to a period of time that I define in advance. It sends an iPhone update pretty quickly. I would suggest you check that you have confirmed to give updates to the app, could be the problem here.

There is a problem regarding the networking. The camera stucks when it asks the dhcp server-even it assigns the same ip address. You need to set up long lease time (e.g. 1 yr) for the device. This will eliminate the problem.

Shitty product and Xiaomi once again doesn't seem to care at all. Two major errors: 1) It stops recording at 19:00 (Greece time) everyday and needs rebooting to work only after 00:00. 2) Surveillance motion assistant doesn't work at all most of the day...

Η καμερα γραφει κανονικα στην micro sd η γραφει μονο 3 δευτερολεπτα? τι εννοω! αν την εχω βαλει να γραφει μονο οταν πιανει κινηση θα γραψει συνεχεια? γιατι δεν με νοιαζουν οι ειδοποιησεις προσωπικα. απλα θελω να γραφει οταν πιανει κινηση. και επισης το προβλημα σου λυθηκε με το να σταματαει να γραφει?
