Funny you mentioned Halo because I think it is going to be like Halo, except that we're not going to be enduring the "Halo" experience from the perspective of the unstoppable armoured superman who saves the day with his marine sidekicks. In Halo most of humanity was killed off by the aliens to the point that Earth's population was reduced to 20 million by the events of Halo 3, so if a war breaks out most of us are going to be experiencing Halo from the perspective of the victims who were too dead to be even featured in the games. If you're not Master Chief, Halo is a pretty dark setting comparable to the Tom Cruise "War Of The Worlds" movie.

I was thinking the same. I’m not familiar with the newer games, but the setting in Halo 1, 2, 3 very much features lots of mass genocide.

@@GetJesse Exactly, the Covenant (Space Muslims) wiped out pretty much everyone in the interstellar colonies and killed nearly everyone on Earth . And if the Space Muslims (or Alien Imperial Japan, depending on your perspective) weren't enough, the Flood also had to show up and turn both the remaining humans and the Space Muslims who invaded into zombies. For all their differences, the apocalyptic setting of the original Halo trilogy and the dark future foreseen by SecurityGuy have a lot more in common than he might think, in some ways probably even more than The Terminator (his favorite franchise).

Was it one of Murphy's Laws of Combat that said something like, "Try to look unimportant. The enemy might be low on ammo." ?

I'm late gen X, and remember the field trip to the Holocaust museum in middle school. We saw the pictures and they had some objects and artifacts from that actual sites. The photos of the people being starved, beaten, worked to death, and tortured will always stay with me. They used so much concrete during the war, there were roads paved with gravestones in some of those camps. I saw the pictures. There were whole huge rooms stacked to the ceiling with all the jewelry they had stripped off the people as they were processed into the camps. They have the camps here again and ready to go, for us. Do not get on any black busses.

My father worked a General Electric in Cincinnati for 30 something years when he started he worked with a guy Bob who started when it was Hughs aircraft, they would go on a fishing trip 1 time a year and drug me along , they got drunk and my dad started talking about his time in Vietnam and Bob started talking about WW2 as a tanker , he was blown out of 3 tanks walked with a bad limp because he was wounded in the hip , they pushed into i believe Germany ? But he killed a German guard and liberated a Jews death camp and he still had stair in his eyes about the the shape and amout of bodys they found , the killing didn't bother him .... but what he found that day most definitely did

Sorry we couldn't do more to help. I reckon that making more cross-appearances with other folks in the space (more streams) might increase the number of folks who will recognize you and your content (and subsequently, who can pitch in). Again, forgive me for not being able to lend more, I'm trying to make preps for both myself and my siblings while juggling a bunch of other stuff. Have a good day, man.

I don't believe Ukraine would use a limited high valued ATACMS on civilian targets. The civilian beach is located between two legit military targets - an airbase and naval base. The likely event what happened was one of the rockets got hit/deflected by Russian air defense , got jammed or malfunctioned and missed (they are old weapons). It simply doesn't make sense to strike the beach because of bad optics for the continued support from US/EU.

They hit civilian targets in the Donbass every day with US supplied Himars and artillery if it is close enough. What do they care about limited supply of anything. We will replace it even without Congressional approval or oversight on it's delivery by the Pentagon.

Seal team 69😂, I live in the desert, I worry about the heat. Even though I can stand the 99 100° when it's 114° 117° out side that's the real killer there. If there's no electricity for months and months might have to pick up and move north where it's cooler.

The people who occupy Israel have no historic ties to that area....their ancestors wandered all over Europe for thousands of years from fiefdom to fiefdom until they angered the king and he ran them out. There's more verifiable historic evidence for this than historic evidence for their occupation of the levant at any time in history. There's no mention of them in any ancient Egyptian history. Egyptians were meticulous record keepers. Egyptians would have mentioned plagues and a slave uprising. Fun fact: After Israel was founded in 1948, they started archeological excavations everywhere in earnest. The goal was finding evidence that would garner support of Christians for "the Biblical Israel". We've been deceived horribly and we're paying the price.....

Jews didn't move from place to place until they angered the king and got kicked out, what happened was more to effect of kings inviting them into their country under a number of caveats restricting what they can do, and when they were no longer considered useful then they got thrown out or subjected to intensified antisemitism. A good example is Russia's pale of settlement started by Catherine The Great. In my opinion, the lack of any Egyptian records corroborating Exodus points more towards the Bible being a work of fiction than Ashkenazi Jews having no ties to the Levant.

to be fair, I agree with a majority of what you say, but the points of contention I have is the "we lost vietnam due to division" and the same sentiment for the middle east conflicts. those are two wars we flatly had no business in. we have no business policing the world beyond ensuring safe transit for our ships and aircraft for commerce. outside of that we should only be doing military action as a direct homeland defense maneuver. additionally, the balkanization situation is reductionist a bit but by all means, you're right on the whole "it makes it easier for the enemy to subjugate and kill us" we do need to fix our country. civil war is the last thing we want, and the last thing I want for my children. I hope that we may get back on the right path and fix our country, but one of the core avenues for this in my belief is returning to the root direct constitutional republic. fuck war. I dont want to see any more of my friends die in the dirt so some fucking private bankers can get rich off funding both sides of the conflict.

I highly disagree with you on balkanization and civil war. Why? As much as Texas wants to secede from the union, it's not feasible. They need the help of all 50 states in case they can't take care of an issue on their own. That goes for the rest of the states in the union. However, as the federal government, to retain power, they must care for all 50 states and territories. Otherwise, they'll have no choice but to relinquish power or control back to the states. That in an of itself is balkanization. With the western economy nearing collapse, there maybe a very real possibility where the federal government and its powers are drastically dwindled. Maybe even to include state powers or control. That is a further balkanization. Smaller counties and communities rely on funding from the state or federal government. With economic downturns, their ability to provide services diminishes even further when such funds are unavailable. That in and of itself is a further form of balkanization. So then it comes down to the individual or families or groups of families. The reason why the media is spewing fear of right wing extremism is to push leftist propaganda to keep their movement alive. Those who blindly believe the political propaganda are balkanized from those who don't believe in it. If things are to be equal, then everyone must contribute equally without exception. Otherwise, the "United" States is no longer united. Conservatism has its faults as well, but does provide more stability at a cost of economic inequality. Lacking or dwindling resources demands meritocracy. Those two issues in and of itself creates even more balkanization. Which leads me into another point: If there comes a time when the entire country reaches a critical point where social-political-economic spectrum is unsustainable for a majority of people in a majority of lands, there will be a lot of discussion/negotiations to lay the foundation for a more sustainable social-political-economic spectrum for those on both sides of the aisle, even if separate, which is another balkanization. That's not to include those who do not wish to conform to either side nor ANY side, which is a balkanization on an individual level and there is no law nor effective social enforcement powerful enough to force conformity outside of those able to insulate themselves from its effects. Such discussions will lead to a lot of discourse, maybe even as far as an impasse or dissolution of the country/states/territories. Such discourses will not be mutual and maybe lead to civil war to fight until a compromise is reached. The fact that this may or will occur is another balkanization. That isn't to say that it hasn't happened before. Czechoslovakia divided to become Slovakia and fhe Czech Republic. Haiti island split into Haiti and Dominican Republic. USSR split into Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Chechnya. Korea becoming North and South. Other times, the exact opposite happened. Post conflict, the country became united. North and South Vietnam became Vietnam. East and West Germany became Germany. Which leads me into my next point: With the country dividing as it stands, has anybody right wing have one inkling of desire to live in leftist territories or states? I see mass migration of citizens OUT of CA and NY, but NONE flooding INTO those states, aside from the third world. Why? Because those territories have decayed so far to the point that ANY restoration will be a daunting task, if not impossible. As for those emigrating, what do they do when they arrive to new lands? Continue supporting what destroyed their previous homelands and what will destroy their nee homelands. Of which, the natives of those lands don't mind like-minded people moving in. But when they start adulterating what they created, they'd prefer if such people leave from their homelands and return to the homelands they fled from instead of destroying what they have. That's several more instances of balkanization, albeit geopolitically. Speaking of third world immigration to first and second world countries, what's to say that the US and western territories will be preserved when under pressure from international conflict? The US can't handle war on two fronts NOW; what makes anybody so sure that the US will still exist after WW3, if it does at all? Given the many examples of balkanization and such related factors that alter or determine the dynamics of how balkanization occurs, how can you dispute the possibility of it or civil war NOT happening?
