It was different... But each Native Tribe have their own way of doing a wedding ceremony. He spoke his native language, his own feathers and the blessing he performed for this beautiful couple.

He is a member of the Havasupai tribe. The Grand Canyon was their home for centuries.

Sorry but I can’t connect. Some natives make their living doing “ceremonies” that are not authentic. A beautiful couple but this makes me very uncomfortable!

Are they making a movie?? This is definitely not a Dine" wedding ceremony. 💕

Well the orange feather dog soldier headdress, the sacred fire of matches, all kind of suspect to me hahahaha I know each healer has their own way of doing things that were shown to them through prayer but been around enough to know this is the wedding a Cherokee Princess and for 600 dollars I can give you one too hahahaha

I've never. Witnessed anything like this before. It was beautiful. I wonder what tribe the ceremony is from?

I think this is a Havasupai ceremony. The officiant is a Havasupai chief.

I have been privilege to attend several native American wedding ceremonies -- this is not like anything I've ever seen. I hope the officiator had the legal power to marry these guys. I think he made up his own ceremony -- good luck!

Every single wedding is different. Even Indians (India ceremonies) are different. Obviously this indigenous man is partaking (probably paid) so they are getting as Native American as they can get without being ridiculed for taking y'all's rituals and things. Now there's biitching for not having a full blown indigenous Native American wedding. WoW @TRUDY

I was wondering , aren’t native Americans matriarchal kinship ? I came here looking for a wedding of a tribe to see how they celebrate . But once he said “who presents Annie in this ritual” , I got sadden . I came here in looking to see if I could find a ceremony where the man is present to the woman.

I don't look it but am an enrolled member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, I am more concerned by Dog Soldier headdress of orange feathers, the sacred fire lit by matches and things of that nature, I know that each healer has his way of doing things, but there is an awful lot about this that seems off hahah
