@@donborvio Same. Definitely. Houses are absolutely nuts where I am. Long Island NY. The taxes are insane here too. I have a regular 4 br 2 bath cape that I bought for $460K like six years ago. I could probably sell it for $700-800K now. Other houses right around the corner going for 1.2-1.5M. This is not a super rich neighborhood, the prices here are just nuts! My taxes are extremely low at $9K a year because my house is 100 years old, but some newer house here are paying $25-35K a year. It’s gotten so ridiculous. I feel terrible for young people starting out. We’re fine now because we’re on the good side of the equation now, but I felt bad for myself because I bought my first house during the bubble of ‘08 and lost a ton of money, even after living there for 10 years! It’s just gotten way worse for a first time buyer since then. It’s impossible for young people to live here and start a family unless they have an exceptionally well paying job, like $100K absolute minimum. It’s sad and not right. Sorry to go off topic, it just pisses me off. This ain’t Beverly Hills over here, but you’d think it was with the prices.
