To anyone that wants this set I’d recommend wide bore tips like azla lights, vivid or crystal. Render tips are super fragile.

I'm surprised it has so much bass given how small the dynamic is. I assume it has good impact based on what you said? I have limited experience with micro dynamics, but I've always found them wanting.

The bass is pretty good and it doesn’t drown out everything else. I really like these, it has weird imaging though, but I like it. I’d say they are great for non competitive gaming.

I tipped rolled with azla sednas and swapped cables. I kinda had a lukewarm reaction to it with the render tips and stock cable. I find it does good on J-Pop and R&B and Soul in my library but misses a little bit with imaging and percussions for rock. Good staging though, wide and has good depth but stays ok in height. Kinda 3D-ish. Very fun and engaging but only after you burn in that initial piezo/planar timbre in the treble. I do agree with the bass part, the rinko has "murder yer ass with bass" kind of bass and I like it for when I want my music to have that kick to it. Lower mids to my ears kind of sound recessed more than upper mids and I really do think the cable swap plays a part in them being so. I run them mainly on balanced on my Ve Megatron and Shanling M3X. Far from being an audiophile sound many snobs want to enforce everything around but it's fun. It's guilty pleasure kinda fun. Sound fidelity and refinement is fundamental but always remember, music enjoyment is king. Great vid. Loved the teardown but was absolutely horrified you had to obliterate the shell to save the driver. Cheers!

They are like symbio tips, but not as dense. For me they just pop out of my ears so I don’t use them. I prefer Sedna light, vivid and spinfit 145/w1 for most of my iems. Also kbear 07 and it’s clones.

I have similar taste in genres. The trick for me was finding the right tips. Because those stock foams suck to be completely honest. But after that, I kind of like them

I like this set, but you can do better at $100. I’d recommend legato over it if you want a bass-fi iem. Otherwise Olina se and ea500 are great for metal, also zero red or even salnotes zero/wan’er if you want to be cheap. Kiwi ears dolce or truthear hola if you want a bit more warmth at a budget. Z300 if you crave mid bass punch on your double bass kicks at a $35 budget.

That analysis lines up perfectly with my experience! I thought they were ok for casual use until I listened to the album Un Dia Normal by Juanes, Colombian rock, they were suddenly terrible!! The main thing that stood out was how they ruined the drums, especially cymbals.

Oh man. Yeah, rock is a big no no for these. The best thing I heard on them was R&B and instrumental techno. Rock was definitely the worst.

@@hi-friaudioman Good thing I bought them on Amazon, easy return 😆. Unrelated but a question about something you said that stuck with me. You were talking about BAs being placed in the nozzle sounding bad to you and I wondered if the Tri I3 Pro had it there...sure enough. I like them at the price point except for this metallic airy shadow around some female vocals, e.g. Trampoline by Shaed. It's like it's supposed to be a breathy quality to the voice but that setup plays it wrong. Is that something that would result from a BA in the nozzle? I'm thinking about opening them to see if I can make any improvements, would be good to use them more and give my Szalayis a break.
