I've been using KZ ZS10 Pro and ZSN Pro for years. Recently I've been looking for TWS and went with KZ Xtra. While waiting for my delivery I've been catching up with KZ line-up and just noticed all that drama that took place in 2022. Two years later I find it hilarious. I doesn't really expose KZ but the entire IEM community. For years KZ has been a darling of budget IEMs (and I'm talking about independent reviews here), until someone discovers that not all drivers work or perform as expected and now what... they're suddenly are horrible? :D Well first of all it doesn't matter how many drivers they have, they should just sound good to their owner. Yeah, KZ has been deceptive on how their drivers work, but who I really stopped trusting is the IEM reviewers.

I love my Pr2 v2, after tuning it myself. One thing to say about the 8k peak. Micropore tape. It's brilliant, I have no interest in upgrading it until I can afford a Sivga Nightingale. Love those trn tips, I use them on just about everything, but use starlines on pr2. Burn in was 250 hours, suddenly, a different IEM, radical improvement. I have never experienced such a drastic difference pre and post burn in, on anything.

Let the turtle live in the house, make a pool he can climb in and out of. He will get huge.

OMG...a $450 dollar IEM with that $h!t cable? Yuk. As for the case...I bought unbranded black and brushed stainless steel versions, each was $14.00 delivered, off of AliExpress. Looks like a complete marketing "pump and dump" rip off to me.

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with the switch position. Rotate one iem. Easy peasy. How did you guys get to the moon? BTW, did you tune Gimlet? Good job if you did, those things are brilliant.

I don't know why people are dumb enough to think kz would put a driver in, and deliberately not use it, as if they were pulling something on the consumer. They have ALREADY SPENT THE MONEY to install them. If they put empty shells in, they might save 20 cents. Or 40 cents. Whatever.. But then they would spend money reorganising the production process to accommodate this. No. No one does that.

I want to make my own IEMs not to sell but purely for personal use looks like a good start is make a clone of existing IEM shell using silicone molds

Thanks for the content! This is pure gold for people like me who want to know what's inside their devices and how to fix it if needed in the future without destructive disassembly on the first try.

I don't understand why more people don't go for the KZ Zsn pro, I have them and I think they sound really good , anyway I believe they use the same drivers in a lot of different IEMs and just give them a different name !

You remind me of the me I used to be. That's the only way you really learn is by disassembling stuff. I started doing that when I was about 2 years old. People use to bring me broken things for me to tear apart as a toddler. The only issue is black boxes eventually disappear...

I always considered a planar just a linear magnet dynamic speaker. The differences between a planar and a dynamic are far fewer than their similarities.

Do metalized plastic housings have the same condensation issue as full-metal housings? It bothers the bajeezus outta me to the point where I have to set a timer to make sure I'm not listening for too long to cause obstruction and potential damage.
