Deb, I am sure you must have had a bad experience, bit please understand you are talking about Indian Police, who are under staffed and jave 12 Hrs shift on daily basis, and have to extend it every other day. Plus the salary is sub standard. One individual from entire Kolkata police must have given you hard time, but please understand, it would be bad to blame everyone for that experience.

corruption is everywhere. Our judiciary is the corrupt system and nobody talks about it. SC judges refused to declare their assets, at least politicians are obligated to declare theirs and corruption in politics is known, hence we can talk about it. Nothing beats the corruption in bureaucracy, politicians come and go but bureaucracy is permanent, they hold power without any accountability. And judiciary is even worse in this aspect, they leave no stone unturned to undermine the parliamentary democracy, they keep interfering in parliamentary governance and keep grabbing power without any accountability' I know politics is about choosing the lesser evil. But at least we can elect them and hold accountable accordingly. But we have no power over our judiciary, they enjoy power without any accountability. It is like living in judicial autocracy.

Who the fk was this guy? instead lecturing and ordering civil police like as his unit soldiers, he should have studied the fkin constitution. You may be even the chief of staff of Indian military, you dont have authority to command civil police force. If you have issue, then like all other Indian citizen follow the law, make complaints, dont pretend to be in charge of civilian police force. This poor police constables doesnt know that they dont have to answer this guy. Your authority is over your own unit and at the border and battle filed, not on Indian civilians. If you want to control police, then quit the army and join the police force and command them. This is unlawful , actually your commander should have reprimanded you for you pretending to extend your authority over Indian civilians.
