This is a great testimony. I was an agnostic even after being born into a Christian family. I thought my parents were uneducated, small town farmers who were naive. This happened after my EDUCATION at a great university. One night I went to a small church. The young preacher, wearing blue jeans, asked everyone who wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit to come up to be prayed for. When the preacher prayed for me, I fell onto the floor. Jesus appeared above me and told me he had a work for me to do. For a week I could not be still. I sang and praised God everytime I opened my mouth! I could not finish my classes, because I could not sit still in class. I somehow I passed my tests without taking the finals or attending the last weeks of classes. There are many deceiving spirits out there. Ask for it , and you will find the TRUTH for yourself.

I talked with a friend tonight, she and I are both pretty depressed and sad because we see things entirely rationally and we see the motives behind everyone's action and feel like there's no way not to be lonely, even surrounded by people. I then watched videos about religion and eventually I ended up with a bible in my hand, read two pages of it then I stopped and started praying. I asked god to let me feel his love and show me something so that I can believe, that I want to but can't seem to find faith. It was now 3AM so I went to the bathroom to prepare for sleep, then I felt chills all over my body and couldn't resist an urge to smile, and I felt good and light an tears came up to my eyes. I will not pretend I will never sin again I think it's impossible, but I will try to live better now and will let god near me, I don't see it as a weakness anymore.

Hey Brian, good question. This is how Christianity is different than all other religions. The other religions say "you must strive and strive, do good works, obey, be a good (fill in the blank with any religious adherent) and Maybe you reach paradise. No guarantees in exchange for all your blood, sweat, and tears. Christ says stop, give up, stop striving, and surrender. There is no way you or I could ever hope to be a good enough person to earn heaven. Rest in my forgiveness and receive the free gift of eternal life. Let my life come in you and make you whole, stop striving for it. And then we as Christians live a life of good works, not to earn heaven, but because of thankfulness we already have it.

We have two choices let Jesus pay the price for our sin which he did on the cross or pay the price for our own sin. If we do nothing the day of judgment will come but for those that expect Jesus atonement there is no judgement just the free gift of heaven. I was in a very bad, and I mean very bad spiritual battle. Didn't see a way out. I didn't know what to do. I was lost and hopeless, I kept thinking, "God won't let me in now, even though I believe it's all real." And to this day, I still have those very bad negative thoughts cross my mind. This is the main way a Born Again Christian has of keeping his spirit stronger than his flesh! I am 66 and have attended church all my life until last year.My preacher asked me to join a lay ministry group at church.He said the first thing to do was to develop a clear testimonial as to how I had come to know God.I went home and began my work,reading the Bible and praying.Then I began to worry, I realized I had not experienced any conversion experience. I called my pastor and related my experience.Fast forward, six months later after weekly sessions with my pastor I realized I just didn't get it.I don't know why or what else I could havd done.My heart was completely open.I wanted very much to know God. I was desperate,I had spent basically all of my life in church.I did not want to loose that connection.All of my family's activities were centered around the church.Time passed and I continued attending church.Then one Sunday we were having Communion.I could not go down it would be a lie, to myself, my friends and the church.I do not attend church any more,I miss it, but what I am missing is the friendship and comfort of the church.Either I can confess my faith in Christ or not.At this point I can not do that.I will not lie about my faith or lack there of.

joel10000a Thank you very much for taking the time to make a response.My pastor is very competent and wise.We did all the things that you could think of; read the bible, talked and prayed.He would give me passages to read in the bible and suggested types of prayers I should pray.I followed all of his instructions.Every so often he would lead me in the prayer of forgiveness.I know I am a sinner.I have invited God into my life several times.I absolutely held nothing back.I was desperate to develop a personal relationship with God.One that I could profess to the World. In all of the efforts that I have made, I have never felt the presence of God. rick padgett Would you tell me what is the denomination of your church? Also, have you been attending that same church all these years? How old were you when you first started attending church? You do realize that you take your salvation based on faith, right? Faith that you have done what the Bible says you need to believe and commit to, in order to become spiritually reborn (Born Again). So the Bible cannot lie, right? So if you believe those things you are told to believe, in the Bible, and you have committed your life to Jesus as the Bible tells us to, then since the Bible cannot lie, then you ARE spiritually reborn, whether you "feel" it or not! It's satan that has been trying his best, over the years to keep you from "feeling" it! Is there any kind of repetitive sin in your life that you can't get rid of? If so, this could be what is giving satan permission to continue to clog your spiritual connection with God. Also do you confess your sins, and ask for forgiveness each and every time you realize you have sinned, over all these years? Do you read the Bible for yourself (or listen to an audio version of the Bible) daily? If not, then your spirit is weak and your flesh is really in control of you and not your spirit and thus not God, because God works through our spirits and NOT through our minds (feelings and emotions)! Reading the Bible daily is how we keep our spirit stronger than our flesh, and also by praying regularly, and confessing our sins regularly! Doing these things regularly is how we keep our communication channel to God from becoming clogged up!

I can't just say I believe without some type of conviction or awareness.There are no sins that I am hiding.If God is who he says he is there is no way to hide anything from him. After I realized I had no testimonial, I went to my pastor.I expect we went through the same things you and your pastor did.After about six months we were both disappointed.We are very good friends and we both had prayed desperately for my salvation. That moment you had when you prayed for forgiveness and your heart was set free, that is what I need.I have prayed the prayer of forgiveness several times alone and with my pastor.I was DESPERATE to have God come into my heart.I have never experienced any awareness of God.It has to be real for me and I will become a disciple of God.For you the experience was real, you felt a change in your spirit.That's all I need. I have faith in my wife our children and a few very close friends because I know they love and care about me and my welfare.Again "IT" just has to be real for me.I want to be able to witness to someone and tell them I know God is real because I have him in my heart.I want exactly what you have.

Just imagine if Hitler said that prayer. Just imagine. Just imagine the bad people that would be in "heaven" with you. Now imagine all the good people in the human history that didn't belive in your particular god or in any god at all. All of those would be in hell. Hell, a space created by you god to send people that your god already knew they would end there (because he knows everything). You'll find atheists that believe in free will others that don't. About ilusions, you're the ones who believe in heaven, hell, talking snakes and donkeys, noah's flood, cohexisting with dinassours, burning bushes, etc. If you provide evidence of any of those things, I'll be pleased. I'm not wasting my time. I was a believer for over 26 years. And I'm gratefull to those who made me see where I was and question my beliefs. You may not like that, but maybe someone will. Coexisting with dinosaurs was never mentioned in the bible and in fact I will admit that some modern day "christians"(some of them don't even deserve to be called that) jump on certain bandwagons because they cannot disprove the existence of dinosaurs say that they were in the ark as well, which is rubbish. Just as how some "Christians" say that God used evolution to make humans and other living creatures is absurd, they need to go to bible school. They do this because as I said before they cannot disprove certain things so they simply say God made it happen to make it seem like they know when clearly they know nothing. You should not even have brought that dinosaur part up if you were a "believer" as you claim and read the bible you would see that there is no mention of such dinosaurs so how can you use that in your arguement. Because certain laws of logic and other man made laws are broken you say that these things cannot exist. Of course I cannot prove that there was a Burning Bush because I was not there to witness it the same can be said about the creation theory and the Big Bang which some scientist believe that something came from nothing while others say that the universe always existed,while some state that the universe was created with "fine tuning" or pin-point accuracy and that it was just an accident that everything was created the way it is not from the Omnipresent God that we Christians know. A Kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. I will not nor can I force you to accept certain things everyone has a brain. If I insulted you and your beliefs I sincerely apologize and thank you for keeping it civilised I have talked to atheists and most of them insult me, curse etc so I applaud you for that. I am not interested in a prolonged debate like I see in the comments section of such videos so lets not "fight to the death" and leave it short because I am going through something right now and will not always have access to the computer. Brian Ordonez Hey Brian, good question. This is how Christianity is different than all other religions. The other religions say "you must strive and strive, do good works, obey, be a good (fill in the blank with any religious adherent) and Maybe you reach paradise. No guarantees in exchange for all your blood, sweat, and tears. Christ says " stop, give up, stop striving, and surrender. There is no way you or I could ever hope to be a good enough person to earn heaven. Rest in my forgiveness and receive the free gift of eternal life. Let my life come in you and make you whole, stop striving for it." And then we as Christians live a life of good works, not to earn heaven, but because of thankfulness we already have it. I hope that helps. We as Christians don't arrogantly proclaim from the mountaintop of having the superior religion. We instead humbly bow and thank God he forgave us. There is nothing special about us and everything special about Christ.

There are some similarities based on that, but a stark difference. There is nothing that originates from me or is a part of me that is able to achieve this higher self. It is not birthed from my essence but rather a separate entity, God the son, coming into my spirit via invitation and renewing me. To the extent that I yield to His Gentle spirit and refuse my fleshly desires, I become more like Christ. Not more like a higher righteous version of self. You seem like an authentic seeker, and one seeking for authenticity. That's good. You may enjoy reading the historical, bibliographic, and archeological evidence authenticating what scripture says. Matters of where the Israelites were, extra-biblical texts supporting people places and things mentioned in the bible, the different kingdoms (Assyrians, Babylonians, Medo-Persian, Macedonian) mentioned in scripture before they appeared on the scene. You don't commit intellectual suicide believing the bible.

Just pray single minded and pray with a full heart, do not let the evil around make you have any doubt. God is very real and those who do not believe have not seeked him ever or have ever read the bible. Ask him for strength and wisdom of his word. He will not deny you all you have to do is put in your part and he will begin revealing himself to you, he sees the effort trust me. I have been witnesses a lot of surreal things from him its been amazing and im here to tell you that im no better than you. ''Alors comment ça marche?'', ''Bon, on peut en parler plus''.7) Il m'a amené à son bureau et nous avons commencé à parler. Le pasteur était clairement intelligent et il savait ce qu'il en parle. Il croit que Dieu existe et que Jésus était ressuscité de la mort et moi, je ne pouvais pas le comprendre. Après ça, on se rencontre pendant quelques moi et je lui ai posé beaucoup de questions et il les ai patiemment répondues. Ma prière comme un non-croyant commençait à changer un peu comme: ''D'accord Dieu, si Tu es ici maintenant, cela commence à faire du sens pour moi...Tu dois révéler plus de Toi-même pour que je me sente plus confortable d'avoir la confiance en Toi et que je ne devienne pas un fou. 8)Il a fait vivante ma conscience. Les pensées ne me quittaient pas et j'avais mal physiquement à cause de la culpabilité que je me sentais. 9) L'Evangile m'a finalement fait du sens et j'ai réalisé que voici la raison pourquoi Jésus est mort sur la croix.
