Hello Steve!! We went to Hoquiam Junior high school together back in the stone age. Glad to see you are doing well. I've seen your sculptures around the Olympic Peninsula. Well done sir, Well done.

I have a guy in my neighborhood who does this for a living. Does amazing work! Even bought himself a half million dollar home off the income made from this type of art work. Awesome trait !

steve backus no. He's been doing it for forty years, each once of his carvings sell for around 400-700. Typically sells 3 a week. I even paid a good amount for him to cut down and create an eagle on a corner tree of my property. Those things sell quick in Michigan.

Anyone interested in meeting Steve should come to the Burning Bear festival every February in Ocean City. He is there every year along with Tony Robinson (2:50). I have known Steve for roughly 30 years and Tony for several years to, both are just awesome artists and great people.

electric is to slow 4000 rpm's, gas saws are 14000 to 15000 rpms, they also have hydrolic saws but very expensive...
