Keri Fox grew up on a traditional grain farm in southern Saskatchewan, Canada. After becoming an electrician and operating her own electrical contracting business fora few years she yearned for a more fulfilling career. After doing a fair amount of research and traveling, she found her passion by establishing a urban farming operation in the city of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada home to about 35,000 people. She calls her operation “Green Sister Gardens” as all her produce is organically grown. Keri shows viewers how she acquires backyard space on residential lots to grow her produce from April through to October. Tour various sized lots and see Keri planting, tilling and harvesting crops and see how she packages her products for sale to both the local restaurant trade and people at large. Keeping with her'green' theme Keri uses pedal power to pull at modified little trailer as she travels to her garden lots. Aside from crop sharing some of her production with the property owners she also sells fresh produce at the local farmers market. You can also meet Kirby Froese one of the many people who provides Keri with a backyard in exchange for fresh produce. Keri says she is able to make a modest living doing what she loves and the same time giving city dwellers and local chefs a chance to get a taste of fresh, nutritional, locally produced food.

At one time 92% of the population lived on farms and knew what to do. Now someone has to drive 6 hours to take a 2 day course on how to grow a plant. More people need to take her initiative.

This made my day. Love to see this movement grow.I think people are starting to get the picture that what they consume ,do and think about literally make up who they are mentally , physically and spiritually. Also I think becoming less materialistic actually frees the mind and spirit and connects you better to the earth.

Wow this is amazing. I've been a gardener for 7 years now and this is my dream to feed people in need with the produce I'm growing. As soon as finances get better I will be helping people and following my dream to one day open a shelter. I love what Mother nature can bring to the table!! Thank you so much for sharing your story I really enjoyed watching this!!

From my understanding, Curtis is a product of S.P.I.N. farming as was the gal in this video. Curtis just made it his own.

I love seeing more people growing their own produce and sharing the beauty of nature! My dream is to have a 35-50% self sustainable homestead with just a few chickens, goats and a bee hive so I can get that delicious honey! I want to be able to help feed people in need of a meal. Especially veterans that need help

Keri, you are kicking ass Lady, very inspiring to me as I launch my market this year. I have enough land that mine is in the same spot plus a 40 x 60 high tunnel. You just gave me the juice I needed going into spring of 2018. Thank you🙏😊🥃

Just love watching this whole movement grow. So much win win for the earth and its people. I hope people consider incorporating edible gardens in with their landscape. The food stores sell so much crap these days and just dont get the quality of home grown.

Inspirational in more ways than one. I am a bit disappointed that food is sold in plastic with plastic clips rather then paper bags. I find that veg lasts longer in fridge in paper bags as veg doesn't sweat & obviously plastic is so bad for all of us. Thank you for posting this video.
