Hi! your video inspired me to cook a similair meal and I made ground beef with some veggie powder for flavouring and 2 organic poached eggs on top. It tasted amazing! I originally found your channel while i was looking for zero carb related content and for a few days I watched a lot of your videos. Love the channel!

Darlene! If you're trying no carb you should look up "cloud bread," it's only cream cheese, eggs and baking powder. You should give it a try :)

My husband has done the NO carb diet... worked GREAT for him. He lost the weight quickly and felt good. He slowly added LOW carbs back to his diet. He gained a little bit of the weight back... but he's happy at maintaining his weight at this point.... while still eating a little bit of carbs everyday. Works for him! He eats meat/eggs and lots of green vegetables daily! His favorite is a cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce. Good luck to you!

Low carbohydrate diets are useful for many people. The ketogenic diet is a special high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that helps to control seizures in some people with epilepsy. If you feel better, keep it up.

I've been thinking about a zero carb diet myself. My cholesterol is a bit high at 205 so I'm hesitant but I barely eat bread anymore, maybe once a week, and very little pasta.I'm a cholesterol fraidy cat.

My doctor swears that eating cholesterol is not what causes high cholesterol. I'm sure going to be putting that to the test! lol

Do you get withdrawal from eating like that? I used to get so sick that I would have to have a little bit of carbs every now and then. And I would stretch out the now and thens a little further each time until I was finally over the withdrawals. I find I do better with staying away from sugar, grains, and processed foods. I did that for 15 months. But when I was on vacation and I figured, what the heck, I'll have a little and fell off the wagon. Now I can't get back on. :(
@darlene.michaud8 жыл бұрын
Getting back on the wagon is so hard to do! I was so discouraged thinking I could not and would not get back on. But reading other's stories inspired me. This is the first time I purposely eat zero carbs, but I'm such a meat eater in the first place that I doubt I will feel sick. I'm starting a daily post on my blog darlenemichaud.com where I will report along the way.

@darlene.michaud8 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are differences between fats. But for me, the animal fats are the healthy ones. I'm really going to try to stick to eating from the animal kingdom for now, no plants. I want to see if that will help my depression even more than low carb.

That looks good. I'm having weight loss surgery and I can't wait! I go for my appointment to speak about surgery date on Dec. 19th. I went to the seminar and it was SOOO educational. I'm just sooo tired of being overweight. I've gained 80lbs since I developed crps, due to meds and the fact that I can't walk like I use too. It's suppose to help drastically with my diabetes as well as my blood pressure! And I'm sure the weight coming off will help my pain levels too. I can't wait!!!!
@darlene.michaud8 жыл бұрын
I looked into the surgery maybe 2 years or so ago but my insurance would not cover any part of it. And the doctor would not do it if I did not have insurance, even if I were to pay cash. Good luck with yours! I'll be happy to hear how it goes so please update me along the way! Excited for you!
@christyinthecarolinas8 жыл бұрын
Darlene Michaud I will do. Luckily my hubby has decent insurance, so that helps. Sucks that they wouldn't do it! You'd think cold, hard cash would speak volumes. I'll let you know how it goes. I plan to do a whole youtube weight-loss journey video vlog

Christy, good luck on your journey. I had wls surgery 15 years ago. it enabled me to get pregnant and have two amazing children. I have since gained a lot of weight back, just be mindful that regaining does happen. Hands down wls was the best decision I've ever made.

I miss these videos!! Even if you eat the same thing every day I love watching them lol. I want to try this diet out, are you still eating eggs btw? My mom was trying to get me on this diet a few weeks ago and i think i might as well try it since it works so well for you.
@darlene.michaud7 жыл бұрын
I rarely eat eggs. I go through stages where I include them, then I don't. It's mainly beef and water for me. And I will be totally honest, thinking you might try it is a good sign that you will not like this or be able to stick to it. This is not something to try. It's something for those of us who have no way out of the cravings nightmare and carb addiction. If you were suffering enough, you would not think about it. You would wanted to have done it yesterday. If you get your finger caught in a car door, do you just think about getting it free? Or do you do anything right now to ease the pain?
@froufrou77737 жыл бұрын
Hm, I guess I just don't feel motivated enough in life. I binge eat like crazy and will continue to eat until I'm absolutely full and even once I'm full i feel like I have to eat or I'm going to break out into a panic attack. Like I won't even be hungry but I feel like I have to eat and it doesn't matter how I try to distract myself. You're right, knowing myself I probably won't stick to it but I'd like to find the willpower to do so. It just physically exhausts me and stresses me out thinking of having to stick to a certain diet because I have been eating carbs carbs carbs for years. I have tried diet upon diet and it's not necessarily to lose weight although I could shed some pounds but ultimately I just want to not feel like a pos everyday.
@darlene.michaud7 жыл бұрын
I have been exactly where you are. I know how it is and how awful it feels to be a never ending eating machine. You do NOT need willpower. That will fail every time. You do NOT need motivation. You are already motivated but you are also afraid to suffer during the transition. It's like wanting to kick a heroin addiction but you are in no mood to deal with withdrawals. Eating only meat kills all cravings and makes life livable. I say this as someone who had zero control. I felt like I was insane and that there was no help. If you would be willing to try even one week, but do it right and do NOT stray, you might find that all your cravings are gone and that you are in complete control. But you also have to see this as freedom and not a punishment. For me, it's pure freedom. You can read up in the group Zeroing In On Health (I no longer am in that group because I hate groups). The group is public. You can read all the files. They suggest 30 days of just meat and water to start. This means not even a breath mint. Freedom. Not a punishment. I suggest one week. If that seems like too much, aim for 2 days. That was the goal I set for myself but by the end of day 1 I knew I was in this for the long haul. Over 7 months now and yes, I sometimes miss food and think about it but it's not cravings. It's thoughts. I can control those kinds of thoughts. I eat my meat and go on my merry way. It's a live I never thought was possible for me. And speaking of meat... I have a pan full waiting for me. lol
@froufrou77737 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I truly believe this is the diet for me then. I will definitely read on those groups you mentioned and keep ya updated on my meat life trials. Starting tonight.. going to have some baked chicken legs probably. Enjoy that pan full lol!
@darlene.michaud7 жыл бұрын
I forgot to give you the link to the group: facebook.com/groups/zioh2/ And I am here to answer any questions you have as long as it's something you want to do. I have lots of people who want my help but they give it a halfhearted attempt then want me to say it's okay, try again. I don't do that. I don't have time to hold hands. You're either ready or you're not. Nothing wrong with not being ready. It took me years to quit drinking even though I hated it. I was finally ready. Best advice I can give you is to eat meat, drink water. Eat a LOT of meat. This is where bingeing comes in handy. Your are not limited. Eat until your brain is happy. You might gain at first. But you will eventually find your comfort zone. Any time you are hungry or craving something, eat meat. Lots of it. I eat hamburger patties the size of a pie plate. I eat tons of beef. It never gets old for me. I have days where I can't imagine eating more of it but when I sit down with it I'm in my glory. It's my medicine. I wish you all the best and let me know how it goes!

eggs have carbs.. this isn't ZC
@darlene.michaud7 жыл бұрын
This way of ZC considers plant life as carbs. So zero carbs means zero plant life. No plants at all. Carbs from the animal kingdom are fine. Animal kingdom only, meat. eggs, some dairy if tolerated.

This is probably tmi, but has anyone who's tried carb free had issues with constipation? I can't eat too much chicken or I have that issue. I'm not a fan of much red meat, don't eat pork at all. Chicken is my current staple meat.
@darlene.michaud8 жыл бұрын
I read a lot about that last night and it can change for a bit, but seems like it all works out in the end, but less often for most. I read that if constipated, turn to fattier meat, like the dark meat of chicken and even the skin if you like the skin. I'm having so much fun reading up on all this!

Your brain needs some fat and carbs. Too low of carb can cause hypoglycemic episodes and has been linked to dementia and Alzheimer's. x

My brain needs what my brain needs. We are all different. I know plenty of fat and carb eating dementia and alzheimer's victims. Maybe they would have been better off eating just meat. But like I said, I aiming for feeling good now and not worrying about disease later. Now is more important to me.

Darlene Michaud I understand. I know people who go really low carb like you're doing and I tried but I have hg episodes. I try to stay under 50 to 100 a day. No, wrong you are talking shit! Her liver will make as much glucose as she needs from meat, there is no essential carbs, there are only essential vitamins and minerals - and meat has it all. Brain disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s are caused by low saturated fat and low cholesterol diets ( our brains are 40 % cholesterol) , that’s why vegans have 10 times higher rates of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other brain disorders - so people on statins - as statins lower cholesterol. Also people with higher cholesterol in blood live longer then people with low cholesterol in blood and have less health problems. Do your research but not on vegan propaganda sites , which are full of shit and lies!

I´m sorry but this is REALLY unhealthy for your body. That meat is clogging up your arteries which can lead to you having a heart attack or stroke! :( Your body NEEDS carbs, its our fuel and it gives us energy, that is a fact. (Of course the carbs need to be healthy carbs, not junk food carbs.) This won´t work in the long run. Maybe you should try the "high carb - low fat" diet, it seems to be the healthiest. I feel like society has brainwashed us into thinking that carbs are bad for us, because they are making so much money in the meat industry, which is very sad. And just btw, I hope you understand that what I´m saying is coming from a good place because I truly believe that you´re harming yourself. You seem like a really nice person :)
