I am still thinking about the straw hat men for the wedding. I know we all have our own traditions, but I just can’t think of any reason how someday that came to pass? Like how did someone come up with two men dressed in a bed sheet with straw covered heads could bring a wedding couple good luck or something. No wonder they kept having to dig out lice and whatever other kind of critters that were crawling around in that hay. You know their face and heads were itching like crazy! 😂

@6:57 These flour sacks were not only used to make "clothes for their children", these were also used by the women in a quilting-bee for making the designs on the quilt; in western films the ony sacks of flour one may see in the general store are always just plain white. I actually inherited a quilt with these flour sack cloth designs; it was made by farmers' wives in a quilting-bee in Texas and is over 100 years old.

The smile club had a resurrection in the 80's and 90's when motivational speakers reigned, along with many silly ideas. One study proved that when people smiled they were happier. 2 different companies I worked at posted requirements that people smile, along with motivational posters. Maybe the didn't consider, when employees are happy then they smile more?
