Just bought a 2025 LT. Very nice vehicle too. I traded in my '23 Ford I had special ordered as economics was making it difficult to continue keeping. I didn't just drop my monthly payment, I also ended up with more features at the same time. Sure, I dropped some power from the 2.0L, lost my mini truck bed, and sacrificed the AWD, but I've lived in WNY all my life and managed just fine without it. That little 3 cylinder engine does sound quite nice too! As far as my daily commute, stop-and-go as well as time on the expressway, it does just fine. The ride is better, the seats for me are more comfortable, it just looks better inside and out; especially in the new for '25 marina blue. Just like the Ford, it too could benefit from larger sway bars, but to lose the stiffer ride is a nice plus. Next one I will opt for the RS trims to get the larger wheels and better grip.

The 3 cyl engine turbo is way too small, this is a 4000-pound vehicle, it takes HP and Torque to get good MPG and performance. 137 HP is not enough, the little engine will be working overtime to pull this vehicle. Vehicle looks good just needs a good engine.

You're driving my soon to have car! That model (LT) ,in either blue, black or Cheyenne Orange. $23,300-$23800, next month, in our city Chevy Store. depending on what they have in stock when I get my military claim back pay. I know it's a polished station wagon-hatchback, small motored car. My expectations are tame! Direct Injection, Tiny Turbo. So my preventive maintenance will never be out of my mind! I want 150-200,000 mile goal! I've test driven 6 of them! But, it's such a sweet drive feel!

I like her too and upvote her videos. However she made a few mistakes. She referred to the 2024 Trax transmission as an 8 speed automatic when in reality it's a 6 speed automatic. Also she referred to a 2LT trim which doesn't even exist. There's only a 2RS and Activ trim. I've noticed that she's made mistakes like this in other videos too and the simple solution is for her to re-watch her videos, edit out the mistakes, and then post it publicly.

LED taillights are not available on any of the trim levels and "wireless" Android Auto and Car Play are standard on all trim levels. 6 speed auto, not 8 and leather is not available on any trim level however, the Evotex fake leather looks and feels great and isn't nearly as hot as real leather.

Absolutely the best choice in the affordable sub compact SUV field. Most of the "competition" quoted is substantially more expensive. The actual direct price competitors are the Nissan Kicks, the Hyundai Venue, and Kia Soul, which cost more and offers a lot less an are no longer competitive with the new Trax. What more do many families need and with the average price of a new car over 47,000 you could have two Traxs.

It weighs just over 3,000 lbs. I’ve seen that misquoted a few times online as I have been researching this car. For some reason people keep mixing up GVWR with the curb weight on it. My 2020 GMC Terrain only weighs 3,400 lbs and is bigger. Don’t forget in the 80’s we were driving 4,000 lbs cars with V8 engines that only produced 140-150 horsepower.

GVWR to me is the weight of the vehicle plus the payload, plus all the liquids and such. 3000 lbs for this thing sounds about right. My 4Runner is 4600-4700 lbs and can get to a max of 6300 if I remember right.

None of the trims have LED tail lights. So many errors in the review, do your homework first. The 2RS has 19” wheels as standard they’re not an option. The Active trim is according to GM rugged, and the 2RS is sporty. I got lost with your cup holder count. There are two cupholders in the front of the car only. You skipped over the heated seat functions. You mentioned 1LT and 2LT no such trims exist. I had to stop watching at this point it was to painful.

At least they put a real 6 speed transmission and not that CVT garbage. I’d take my chances with the 3 banger over a cvt. I do wish they would offer the 1.5 4 cylinder in this car as an option. I’d feel more comfortable as I haven’t heard many problems with it in the 2018- present Equinox or Terrain unlike the old oil consuming 2.4 4 cyl.

I had a 2018 equinox with a 2.0L turbo which leaked oil even after being taken to dealership 4 different times (twice for over a week at a time) replacing a seal. nice acceleration, but a leaker.. got rid of it after only 52K miles

Such a great entry level model. Ford and FCA need to introduce something like this as well. People of modest means need a car like the Trax to commute to work or school that doesn't break the bank. Or anyone looking to not spend to much for transportation. The market is sorely lacking in cars like that which are comfortable, well styled and can be serviced in almost any town in the country.

I know the base models of the others are close to it in price though. The Trax will be more readily available and many more dealerships than those imports. Again, I was just thinking of cars that can be bought and serviced in any little town in the country.

Thank you for reviewing this car Lauren. I currently lease and love my 2020 GMC Terrain 2.0 L FWD until November. I’m seriously considering buying a new Trax 2RS at that time because it’s really the only car in that range that isn’t boring and ugly. I’m a little leery of the 3 cylinder engine and it’s longevity vs a 4 cylinder but I do love everything else about it, especially the price. Im a just worried if it would feel cheap compared to the GMC which actually is quite luxurious. However you sound pretty up on it, so that’s reassuring. The one thing I won’t miss is having to buy premium gas for the 2.0 turbo. There is a substantial difference in mpg when I tried regular 87 in it.
