Hi there! Well the resqme tool is effective only against clear and tinted tempered glass. Tempered glass is commonly used in rear and side car windows. It does NOT work on laminated glass.

Will this work from the outside in if you have to save someone in a fire? AND WHAT WORKS BETTER THE KEY CHAIN TOOL OR THE HAMMER WITH THE SEAT CUT BELT? There is the Resqme Key Chain & the Life Hammer. Do the non branded Hammer styles work as well as the Life Brand?

This will absolutely work from the outside of the car, As firefighters we use a tool similar to the resqme, when you break the window aim for the lower corner and use your hands to pull the glass away from the trapped victim. cut the seatbelt next to the center post (ie above the drivers shoulder). IMHO the keychain is better because of the automation, you still have to be able to freely swing the hammer which may be a problem when you are trapped, additionally when you swing the tool from outside there is a risk of hitting the victim or pushing the broken glass towards them. as for branding i would think the off brand work just as well because both work on the same concept, you are applying a large amount of force to a very small area which is what breaks safety glass(the glass in your windows and back) Remember though, the windshield is laminated and is damn near impossible to break in an emergency even with these tools. my God every car needs to have 2 front and back seats. My friends kids just died trapped in seat belts of a burning car. People couldn't break window from outside.

Dimitrios F The water in your car under water would not allow you to do that. You need a lot of pressure in one spot and strength to break a window like that and the water will go against you and make ur strength not impactful. This tool put that’s pressure in one small place with a needle so whatever pressure you do have under water will have a significant impact instead

why would anyone waste his/her time to reach the toy, take it off the key chain and correctly apply it to the seat belt in order to cut it when seat belts are designed to buckle and ... well ... unbuckle, eh? If we do the following experiment 1,000 times: (A) use the toy or simply (B) unbuckle you'll see that 1001 times (B) is faster ...
